And with that, Week 6 of MLS has come to a close!! THe Philly Union extended their unbeaten run to FOUR (4!?!?!?!) games with a beautiful stoppage time winner. Carlos Vela continued his strong case for league MVP by bringing DCU crashing back to earth. PRO Referrers did NOT (????) cost Orlando City points, though Rapids fans might feel differently. The Loons continued their strong road form, while the Timbers..........not so much. San Jose and their new coach broke their MLS duck against the aforementioned hapless Timbers. Seattle continued their strong start to 2019 with a hard fouight victory against a game RSL. Peter Vermes ROTATED his squad and picked up a point in Cincy????? Wait, Vermes, roated his squad??? Wow, that actually happened. Brad Freidel will need to go back to his motivational well after another deflating loss. Zlatan was, well Zlatan. Fear not MLS fans, week 7 features midweek action! As always all game times are eastern. National TV games are noted, and all other games can be seen via your local broadcaster or on ESPN+. Remember to keep it neutral in the N&A game thread. Yeah, a team that gets worked by Orlando and Houston in the last 8 days now gets Seattle and DC 3 days apart. I'm actually glad I'm missing the second game for my flight to London.
Why is there a Tuesday at all? Fairly useless day if you ask me. So if I plan a trip there around the end of June can I avoid packing thermal underwear?
my local movie theater has half price tickets on Tuesdays, that's cool are MLS tickets also half price? dang, I just got reminded of how much I miss buck-a-brat night at Crew Stadium
Me too. And Tuesday is my late day at work, so sleeping in is a much appreciated feature to my Tuesday’s.
#Rapids96 home game kick off temperatures (deg F) this year: 18, 37, 42. #COLvSEA could be Snow Classico 4. Oh how I long for a match day in the 60s. #WinterIsHere pic.twitter.com/7kggQozEdS— Matt Pollard (@LWOSMattPollard) April 8, 2019
Why so glum? The final had Virginia Tech in it and Virginia won.. Oh, I see the problem. It’s Virginia vs Texas Tech.. Not Virginia Tech... my bad!
So weather reports are now calling for 4-8 inches of snow in Denver from tomorrow evening through Thursday morning. Snow ball again in Commerce City, and the 4th (of 4) home game to have snow on the ground.
Games involving MLS, USL-C, and USL-1 teams for the next two weeks: April 9 - 1 MLS April 10 - 1 MLS, 2 USL-C April 11 - 1 CCL April 12 - 1 MLS, April 13 - 10 MLS, 16 USL-C, 4 USL-1 April 14 - 1 MLS, 1 USL-1 April 15 - 1 USL-C April 16 - 1 USL-C April 17 - 1 MLS, 2 USL-C ------- April 19 - 3 MLS, 1 USL-1 April 20 - 7 MLS, 13 USL-C, 2 USL-1 April 21 - 2 MLS, 1 USL-C Darn that gap on April 18 or the consecutive streak would have went for 13 days instead of 9. With the Open Cup staring in May we might get an even longer stretch then. 30 pro games on April 13 is noteworthy as well.
