So you think they will "park" him at Celtic due to "limitations imposed on his dad due to his political career" because that will entice him to sign a contract extension.
😳 We're not exactly sure what Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was doing here⁉️ The @PSG_English man denied his own teammate and left the ball sitting on the goal line. pic.twitter.com/blFnaPoOQA— beIN SPORTS USA (@beINSPORTSUSA) April 7, 2019 This is really the guy that sent Weah to the reserves
The hack did this last week as well. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Choupo moting did this last week too <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/PSG?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc^tfw">#PSG</a> <a href="https://t.co/ycDBWaEE3s">https://t.co/ycDBWaEE3s</a></p>— Pádraig Furey (@pattfurey) <a href="Choupo moting did this last week too 🙄😭😭 #PSG https://t.co/ycDBWaEE3s— Pádraig Furey (@pattfurey) April 7, 2019 ">April 7, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Howe is a very good coach. Would have zero issue if he ends up there. But the EPL is a different beast and doesn’t lend its self well to youth. He’s better off going on loan somewhere where he will play a lot.
He must be one HELLUVA practice player. LOL Seriously though...i think with this moting move to pip Weah ...and the way Tuechel put the kibosh on the Lucho Acosta move....I think there is a good chance there is some "euro-only" bias at play or something fishy going on with him........
For how much $$$, though?? If it is a small fee Weah should not do it!! Will only be put on the bench like Hyndman was.... the only Weah he should consdier it is if it is for big $$$ (relatively).....otherwise, they will be quick to banish him without a second thought the moment the wind turns or the manager leaves or he doesnt go 100% at a practice etc etc.....
Bournemouth paid £19 rising to 25 for Solanke. Weah is probably worth more than that right now based on output, but he’s not English. I’d bet some PL team would take him for around that 25 mark
Not a chance a EPL side pays 25 for Weah at the end of this season with the little he’s shown so far. Yes he’s shown to score but in the SPL. Yes he’s got talent and pedigree going for him and the market is crazy but no chance. Solanke only went that high cause he’s English. Maybe loan to buy but even then I find that a stretch. EPL generally looks to buy finished products or products with potential that have shown they can play in the top leagues already.
Tim has goals for PSG. Solanke scored 1 goal in ton of minutes last season and didn’t touch the field this season until he was sold. I literally said Tim wasn’t English in my post. You are also incorrect about what English teams will buy. I’m not going to list all of the examples, but teams are definitely buying younger because it’s the only viable acquisition strategy if you’re not ManU.
Yeah, true. But up until his transfer to Toronto, nearly every coach Jozy had - even going back to youth level - commented on his slack approach to training.
He scored a goal for PSG. And a few for Celtic. He hasn’t played much. Teams in the EPL wont shell out 25 for him in the summer with a handful of starts/goals in the SPL. I know you said he isn’t English, I reiterated it. Yes their buying younger but not from the SPL. Their buying younger players with promise but have shown it in top leagues. Not the SPL.
Not quite right. They will buy a player from the SPL but only a top performer. And Weah hasn’t shown it yet.
Premier League teams spent $25 million-plus on players from the Ukrainian league, the Championship, and MLS this season alone, so I'm not sure you're right. Weah isn't a $25 million player, but it isn't because he's playing at Celtic, who sold a French dual-national striker for $25 million last summer.
The market is so bizarre that a 5 million player could easily be sold for 15 or 25 at the right moment of desperation. Complete bonkers. I think Weah should ask for a loan next Fall to a PSV or Ajax or some other huge club in a mid-tier league so he gets plenty of cup games and CL matches to take part in. Being at Bournemouth won't do much for him being a super-sub with very few scoring opportunities.
Those guys from the Ukrainian league are usually Brazilians who went there for legal reasons so they could move to larger European leagues. Almiron did it at a high level in the MLS for 2 seasons and that’s still an outlier. Same with Delembe at Celtic who was highly sought after before he went there.
Maybe I am in the minority but I would love this move if there is anything to it. Eddie Howe plays attractive football and is a great teacher. Out of his strikers he use them to run into the channels, wants pacy and fast attacks. Does that sound like the skill set of any young American striker?
