59' 5-0 Belgium subs in: - (2 of 6) #17 Maud Coutereels for RCB #4 Heleen Jaques - (3 of 6) #5 Shari Van Belle for LB #2 Davina Philtjens. 61' 5-0 USA subs in: - (4 of 6) #20 Allie Long for #9 Lindsey Horan - (5 of 6) #26 Jessica McDonald for #22 Mallory Pugh. 64' 5-0 USA turnover at their 27m right touch, Lloyd darts in and challenges #23 Missipo, ball clangs off both of them. Lloyd jumps back in but slides just-late and takes out Missipo's plant ankle. Foul, no injury, yellow card on Lloyd. She dinged herself a bit by getting landed-upon.
Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerdio Press I'm not sure if she was onside.
67' 5-0 Missipo dribbles to 30m wide left, Krieger overtakes her from the outside and pries her off ball with a good shoulder challenge. 68' 5-0 Kate Markgraf has tracked down Brandi in the stands for the split-window interview. Press(?) dribbles down box left to 5m, slides down and loses ball to Deloose. 69' 5-0 Wide switch to McDonald at arc top right touch, she flicks a pass to Krieger overlapping to box top right. Ball poked away, McDonald collects and flicks it up right touch to Krieger still ahead of her Krieger crosses to 12m left post, but not far enough, headed away.
That is the problem with Press. She can look and play like one of the best in the world and then mess up the easiest of chances. With Press if you want the good you must live with the bad.
Can the same not be said of any player? Different players just happen to have different proportions of good to bad.
73' 5-0 USA subs in (6 of 6) #25 McCall Zerboni for #3 Samantha Mewis, who exeunts into far touch. Mewis jogs through the end zone, slapping hands with fans. In away matches, those hands slap you 75' 5-0 Press receives at arc top left, darts into a 1-v-4, loses ball. 75' 5-0 Belgium pass up left touch over midfield, Krieger blocks it out. Krieger + McDonald on the right side is an intriguing combo. 77' 5-0 A bit more to-and-fro, as Belgium are now more willing to lump the ball forward, and we're a bit frazzled in trying to settle it. 78' 5-0 Press receives at arc top right, cuts leftward to arc left, never quite gets space for a shot, finally has ball lunge-poked off her foot.
The US defense starts looking a little shaky...ESPN cuts back to 1999. Could be a coincidence, but interesting timing.
Yes but some are much more stable than Press. I do not really like her as a starter. She is just too likely to screw something up. She reminds me of Josh Wolfe on the men's side, he would kill as many attacks as he created and the same seems to go for Press.
My daughter just said she is a ball hog and is forcing plays when there are options to keep possession. Smart kid!!
79' 5-0 Cayman shoots from ~box top center, ball deflects leftward and beats Harris wrong-footed -- off left post, bounces away through box left and remains in play. 80' 5-0 Belgium subs in (4 of 6) #3 Ella Van Kerkhoven for #6 Tine De Caign. 81' 5-0 Belgium drive down wide right, cross past Davidson sliding. 83' 5-0 Belgium longball up centerline, Zerboni heads it away. We ping in the back, and now Belgium is pressing us high. Davidson and Sauerbrunn play a 2-person passing drill vs. close pressure, Sauerbrunn's next pass upfield is a turnover. 85' 5-0 Belgium subs in: - (5 of 6) #16 Sarah Wijnants for # RB #22 Laura Deloose - (6 of 6) #8 Lenie Onzia for LM #23 Kassandra Missipo.
The US is defending like, well, the US lately. There seems to be no communication at the back. I wish they would mike the keepers and central defenders. I would like to hear if it is what is being said or not said.
86' 5-0 Davidson(?) threads a pass through box top mid-left, Morgan breaks through the line to 6m mid-left. Cross to McDonald at 5m left post -- and she shanks the tap-in way over left 90 87' 5-0 Press chases down a ball at box right foot, crosses to 6-top right. McDonald tries a diving flick-header but gets under it, pops it up high to 2m left post and Evrard catches.
who is the 6 playing right now? played a fantastic ball to press and not a word said about it from the commentators
The comentators do not care about the match at all. They just want to show how much stupidity they can spout.
