Watch YA teams and take copious notes on how the team suffers because of their Yank injury, of course
I didn't watch the whole pregame, but I was surprised when I didn't see Adams in the 18, and then the announcers mentioned key players missing from each team but only mentioned Poulsen from RB.
I am hoping for Leipzig to win, as I want to see Adams in the Champions League next season. Having said that, Leipzig is being run through in the midfield without Adams there. Leverkusen could quite easily have 4 goals, instead of the 2 they have in the first 30 minutes.
Leverkusen just missed another great opportunity. Leipzig is super lucky to be down only 2-1. They are getting sliced to pieces.
Leipzig saved from 3-1 by an offside call made via VAR. They are getting shredded. Again, extremely fortunate not to be 2 or 3 goals down.
Good goal for Werner. 2-2. Leipzig really needs this point to avoid ceding too much ground for the CL race.
Watching the game, I can come to no other conclusion. Leipzig is also missing Poulsen up top, so that has an effect. But again, they have gotten absolutely toasted through the midfield. 2 goals against is VERY kind to them.
Cunha just scored a wonderful goal to seal it for Leipzig 2-4, and Luke Dunphy doppleganger Demme is immediately subbed in for Forsteberg to shut things down.
I don't think there's any way they miss it TBH. 8 points clear with an extra game played; I don't think Monchengladbach is making up that difference.
538 and their SPI rankings have them at 96% to make the Champions League after today. The win added 6% to that.
Had Leipzig LOST, they would have been tied with the 4th place team, Eintracht, on 52 points. Gladbach, with a win in its game in hand today, at home against Werder, would have 50, in 5th place. 52, 52, 50. With a loss, Leipzig could easily have been in a dogfight, regardless of what 538 says.
Kristian Dyer:"I'm being told Tyler Adams is drawing interest from several high profile, Champions League level teams accross Europe"Also reports that Omar Gonzalez is interested in returning to MLS. https://t.co/jKvUE91IRN— MLS Buzz (@MLS_Buzz) April 6, 2019
Not surprised at all about Tyler. Guy is obviously quality, and can only improve. Since Atlas benched Gonzo they're doing a lot better.
Gonzo would be a good depth signing at the right price. How many clubs are you allowed to transfer to in a calendar year? Would Tyler be able to be transferred this summer?
