    interesting stat....

Together, Wooten (9 goals) and Schleusener (9 goals) scored 18 of the 25 Sandhausen goals and thus 72%. In the league, no other player duo can score such a high score.

And they're out of the relegation zone all of a sudden.

Wooten does it again, scores in 90+2 to win the game 2-1 vs fellow bottom team Ingolstadt. His 11th of the season too.

...is it possible he's a better winger than arriola/morris/baird/ebobisse/etc???

....or a better striker than zardes?

(i would say the answer to those questions is definitely yes)

Winger, no, striker, maybe, but he's also two years older than Zardes.

another stat besides him likely having best season ever for a Sandhausen player in scoring table when he hits 1 more.

just realized that Wooten 4-5 goals ago, became the all time top scorer for Sandhausen, Wooten did it playing all 2BL while guys like Loring (previous all time top scorer) played 3rd Liga with Sandhausen.

well at least he's writing his name in the club's history.

with an expiring 2019 contract and how he saved the team numerous times, for sure Sandhausen will want to renew his contract but one wonders if his future.

Yeah, which means by the next World Cup, he'll be a borderline useless 33-year-old forward.

Two years matters a lot in a career that lasts at most ~15 years.

I'd prefer if a better team, like St. Pauli or Union, got him. Sandhausen is a bottom-feeder.

Been saying it for over a year....I’d love to see a MLS club or two make a run for Wooten. I’ve always like and appreciated his game. No doubt there’s a few clubs that could use his skill set and his finishing. Hottest Yank at the moment. Wooten’s second half of the season has been impressive. He’s keeping his club above the relegation zone.

The defending against him in that first goal was laughable. Let's fall off the guy with the ball and let the guy have a free shot at the top of the 18. He's only one of the best scorers in the league, what can he do?

16 goals and 1 assist to become the #4 top scorer in the league, with the #1 and #3 playing for the best team in the 2.BuLi, the Goats. Take his goals out and they'd be fighting Gyau's team for last spot.

At SV Sandhausen they say that they always believed in you, and the coach also gave you confidence from day one. Will this play a role in the decision to extend the contract expiring at the end of the season?

I know what I have at Sandhausen and it's true, Uwe Koschinat gave me the backing you need as a player. I have colleagues here whom I would call friends. I feel very well at the Hardtwald.

That sounds like the era of Wooten is not over yet.
We negotiate. A decision has not yet been made.

You have played one international match in the 2015/16 season against Costa Rica.Is there still contacts to the US Soccer Boys?
Unfortunately not at the moment. Of course, I would be glad if my goals would talk around.

    also
"Andrew is playing his best season," said coach Uwe Koschinat. This is a blessing and a curse at the same time. Even though the US international will enter his fourth decade of life in September, attackers who reliably hit are in demand.

Nevertheless, in the fight for Wooten SV Sandhausen believes to have good cards. "Andrew has always enjoyed our trust, he has a bonus that he would have to work out elsewhere," says Jürgen Machmeier.

Screw Sandhausen, they're never going to get promoted. He needs to move to a team that has a shot at it.
