I do not know the reason, but they have confirmed that Benji Michel will not attend the convocation of Haiti
Folarin Balogun says he hasn't chosen his international destination: “I haven’t yet declared who I will commit to internationally,” Balogun began. “I was born in New York, so can play for the USA. My parents were born in Nigeria and I have been in England since I was two years old, so I can play for both those countries too! “I have several youth caps playing for England and I enjoy their style of play which is similar to Arsenal’s. I will be discussing matters with my parents and will then decide.” http://dailycannon.com/2019/03/fola...ernational-allegiance-england-usa-or-nigeria/
For his statements seems to be quite determined to play for England, although we will have to wait. Maybe at some point I'll stop being on the radar of England and decide to choose the United States as an alternative option.
'01 NY-born defender Oisin McEntee gets what I believe is his first callup to Ireland U19. He's been previously with U18 and U17. Already was provisionally cap-tied with the U17s, so this won't change his international status. T&T is doing a rather ambitious scouting trip to Atlanta for 2002 & 2003 year groups. http://www.socawarriors.net/mens-u1...R5hOnT9hzPnhQCG4bkvsh6i8fviCzfeeIMCYQAW093H6M
Even if true, that doesn't mean there aren't good players in Atlanta. There are two other DA teams from Atlanta in playoff position. UFA is leading the SE division, and after a slow start, Concorde is up to a wildcard spot and one of the hottest teams in the DA. Moreover, the metro Atlanta area is home to many families with dual citizenship soccer players and is a great place for other countries to mine talent. I personally know of two kids born in '02 who could possibly play at the U17 Concacaf tournament for T&T. Additionally, there are Haiti, Puerto Rico, Honduras, and Jamaica eligible players on the DA clubs and at KSA and GSA who at least deserve a look in metro Atlanta. I find it funny that people push this idea that "if you don't play in an MLS Academy, you must not be talented or good." This belief is part of what is holding the U. S. back in terms of development. There are many reasons that talented players don't play at MLS Academies, with academics being one and "late bloomer" being another.
#U16 | Head Coach Marcos Ayala has called up the following team for camp this week! 👦🏻 🇲🇽 ⚽️#PasiónyOrgullo | #FMFporNuestroFútbol pic.twitter.com/iY1Qhwd7fP— Mexican National Team (@miseleccionmxEN) March 20, 2019 '03 Adrian Gonzalez with Mexico U16s. No Ricardo Pepi or Fernando Alvarez.
Here is a series of tweets regarding young players who are playing for other YNTs or not yet playing for the U.S. for various reasons. ChuckMe92Soccer is doing a terrific job in compiling all sorts of lists of youth players. Check out @ChuckMe92Soccer’s Tweet: Megathread: here's a compilation of the top US-eligible players who have been representing a different country but could possibly represent the US in the future. There are other US-eligible names that exist, but these are the most notable ones. Let's dig in to them. pic.twitter.com/Tufyi0Xh90— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) March 29, 2019
Here's one possibly worthy keeper I've found. Portugal U17 keeper Sergio Dutra Alves of Vitoria SC. His Instagram bio says he's Portuguese-American. Here he is holding the trophy after the Portugal U17s won the 2018 Nike International Friendlies in Florida. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq-iSBHHb1f/
Appears to have been born in Portugal, so if this is correct then presumably it's through parentage...
#U17 | Meet the squad called up by HC Marco Antonio Ruíz to work in Acapulco and Mexico City as preparation for the @Concacaf U-17 Championship in May! 🇲🇽⚽👦🏻#PasiónyOrgullo | #FMFporNuestroFútbol pic.twitter.com/0rLZocUtpN— Mexican National Team (@miseleccionmxEN) April 2, 2019 Alvarez and Munoz make the final Mexico U17 camp ahead of World Cup qualifying. Letayf is there too though he's not eligible for the US. No Pepi or Arce.
Yeah, it sure appears that Pepi is now firmly in the U17 plans. After that, we'll see where it goes. Letayf isn't eligible for the US, but its still a bummer to see him get away. There's a lot of potential there. If he makes their U17 CONCACAF roster, then he'll never be eligible for us.
#U15 | Here’s the team sheet called up my Head Coach Miguel Ángel Gamero for two international tournaments in 🇭🇷 & 🇮🇹 this month! #PasiónyOrgullo | #FMFporNuestroFútbol pic.twitter.com/t6xGkFbipi— Mexican National Team (@miseleccionmxEN) April 2, 2019 Mexico U15 roster is out for a couple of international tournaments. Includes Alex Alcala of Stockton Rebels, Miguel Avalos of Pachuca, and Jarred Torres Rayon of NYCFC. Torres Rayon has been with the US U15s but wasn't getting opportunities stuck behind Gabriel Slonina. Missing from the roster are Donovan Palomares and Abel Salazar.
He's the keeper who was listed as 6'3 204 on the US U-15 roster in the summer. I've never seen him play, so he might be a great player and I wouldn't know, but you have to wonder how athletic a 14 year old at that height/weight can be.
I recently saw that Wilfredo Rivera '03 is with Puerto Rico U17 in the for qualification. He was with the U16 team some time ago.

2001 FC Dallas academy CM Luis Pacheco is with Guatemala's U23s, according to Thomas Roberts on Instagram, including a pic of Pacheco currently with the Guatemalan side. DA site has Pacheco with US nationality.
