Goal for RBL by Forsberg. Adams involved with the buildup, as he makes a quick touch to a teammate, who then plays a great long ball to Forsberg who finishes nicely.
Adams is everywhere, winning balls and then serving as the central lynchpin when RBL have the ball. Berlin under lots of pressure, can't get the ball out of their own half.
1-0 Leipzig. Adams did his part with what would be called an assist in MLS. Adams was played a poor ball into the middle, but he was able to reach it and knock it forward to Kampl. The Hertha defender who should have been on Kampl had chased the poor ball to Adams, so Kampl had plenty of space to loft a pass into the box to Forsberg.
Yep, secondary assist on the goal. And it appears he is playing the lone 6 today (as opposed to the dual role).
I found it notable that (in the minutes before the 1st RB goal) the commentators were comparing Adams to Joshua Kimmich. 2-0 RB. Poulsen creates a break with some pressing, and Poulsen finishes the opportunity.
And there's the second goal. Bad mistake by Hertha Berlin in defense. Paulsen pressures the defender, who makes a bad mistake, and the ball falls to Warner. This results in a 2 on 1, with Warner easily dribbling behind and then cross to Poulsen for a simple finish. Adams not involved. Also, Poulsen's celebration shows he will have a baby.
Honestly, I thought that Adams was going to have a tough day at the office today. Instead, he looks totally in control. Happy for the kid, to be doing so well.
Adams intercepts and plays a nice ball forward to Warner, who nearly breaks the lines, but the defensive slide tackle saves it.
RBL playing some great football. Having watched BVB today, RBL may be the most in form Bundesliga team right now.
Adams positions himself to win a foul just outside his own defensive box, stopping one of Berlin's few forays into RBL's defensive third.
He's at the 6 in a diamond 4-4-2, I believe. The usual Demme role, but he's been a bit more aggressive than usual, made a few line breaking passes and getting forward to connect with Kampl and Forsberg.
Yeah, Hertha is a solid mid-table team, and if things keep going this way, I could see Leipzig cruising to a 3- or 4-0 win.
In general, I really like the way Adams is playing. Just playing very quick 1-2 touch passes that go forward when it's on or keep possession by going square or backwards when it's not. He's maybe missed on 1 or 2 passes?
Yup, he's the fulcrum once the ball turns over or they build out of the back. One touch and turn, then quick, smart balls to Haidara and Kampl is his job here. A few times he's hit good balls further up the field that have been dangerous, and those kind of hits will keep the defense honest when he's on the ball too.
