Derby find the equalizer. Holmes wasn't involved but it was a heck of a goal from Mason Bennett

    Gbolyi Ariyibi, are you watching?

(Not just that clip, but Holmes' play, attitude and demeanour over the last two seasons.)

It still doesn't register how he didn't get called in for the March friendlies. That roster makes me nauseous.

Honestly....I can understand it. Derby Co are in a heated battle for a playoff spot and have Bristol City breathing down their necks. They are 1pt up with a game in hand. Not only that but Derby have had a bit of the injury bug. They cannot afford having anyone go down with injury or suffer a bip in form. It’s not a deep squad. I’d be willing to bet that Holmes was contacted by someone at USSF and Lampard said here’s the deal......can we keep Holmes?

Holmes is 24 and has one goal zero assists in 1146 min this year. Yes, he’s played multiple positions and judging by stats alone isn’t the best... but let’s not act like Gregg left off a top player. I would’ve added him to this roster, but it’s not a snub.

So, you haven't seen him play? He's had multiple assists this season.

In league play? Only if we count tertiary+ assists.

PS: Why not. We may be innovators. A quick guide:

    assist = pass to goal
secondary assist ("hockey assist") = pass to assist
tertiary assist = pass to secondary assist, you get the idea.
    quaternary assist
    quinary assist
    senary assist
    septenary assist
    octonary assist
    nonary assist

Um, speaking of cutting things off...
Let's just say the posts I deleted were of questionable value to the thread topic.

This guy can play. He’s literally perfect for what Berhalter is trying to do.

But nah, we’re good with Roldan. Meanwhile, we should be trying to clone Holmes because he’s arguably our best option at 4 spots.

I’m always impressed with just how clever he is. Really good and quick reaction there.

People should really be watching all his Derby matches. Just a really fun player with a great eye for a pass and the potential to beat 2 or 3 guys any time he gets on the ball. He’s always progressive, and really comfortable on the half-turn, excellent on the ball.

Eta: got an 8.4 on SofaScore and an 8.6 on Whoscored, only topped by Waghorn, who got a hat trick via 2 penalty kick goals.

Also, the guy had 16 passes into the final third, as the deepest midfielder. #caphimyesterday

I'm glad he's establishing himself in a good side, with some really promising young players. The March camp should've been his opportunity, but if he isn't called into the Gold Cup, I'm going to lose my shit.

They were playing a team that is very likely to be in the League One next season though. With this win, Derby is #6 and positioned to take part in the promotion playoff.

When I think about available players who were missing from the midfield we put out against Chile, Duane Holmes is one of the first I think of.

I'm thinking it'd be a great opportunity to push CP wide left or wide right, and take one of the 10 spots. Our wingers (Morris, Arriola, Baird, etc.) were not good enough.
