This just posted on the official site! https://www.arsenal.com/news/pre-season-matches-united-states-announced As fairly well predicted: LA, DC & Charlotte. Get out there Yankee Gooners!
While I hate the ever-loving f*** out of the ICC I will be at the game in Charlotte. Hace to race home the next day for Atlanta's match. Up the Gunners!
Have not seen a date yet but you can sign up for presale notification - https://icctickets2019.shortstack.com/qxSp6S?eid=tickets:icc.com:signup:schedule:ARSENALROMA:none.
I'm going to consider DC if (A) my schedule allows, and (B) the tickets aren't too obscene. Something tells me "B" might be an issue. But DC is a big venue so maybe there's a chance they won't gouge??
Last year they were in Asia so I'm not sure how relevant that was. In 2014, I saw them against NYRB and I had a STH friend who gave me 3 good tix at face, probably like $35-ish? But I recall hearing/seeing prices Stubhub prices >$200 in the same section. It's now 5 years on, and I feel like the greed factor surrounding the ICC has probably gone up by a quantum leap. (Not to mention our world as a whole) So I'm poised to be shocked, but really hope I'm wrong. But we are playing Real at DC, so that's gotta jack the price up another quantum level as well.
I already heard the news on them coming back to the States but I am a bit disappointed that once again, much like three years ago they’re not gonna be here in Seattle at the CLink. We here in the Northwest would’ve jammed 67,000 easily, even more if we played the Sounders, as there is a TON of Gooners (along with myself) who would show up
Looks like a game against the Colorado Rapids, too. The Rapids sent an invite to the Denver Gooners for an event tomorrow to announce a "mystery" friendly on July 15th.
Cool!! And so there's life outside of the ICC! Kroenke vs Kroenke anyone? Anyway at this point we have: (7/15 vs Rapids @ Denver?) 7/17 vs Bayern @ LA 7/20 vs Roma @ Charlotte 7/23 vs Real @ DC
As a resident of Charlotte, I am pretty pumped about the game vs Roma on the 20th. I'll try to pass along whatever news comes down from the Queen City Gunners regarding weekend events. So far, it's just been ticket pre-sale stuff. There are 2 bars in the uptown area that will likely be huge gathering spots. I also posted about these in the Arsenal Pub thread back in November: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/arsenal-pub-directory.1662327/page-10#post-37271676 Ignore the bit about free parking. that aint happening. Would love to meet up with some/all of you at Hooligans before the match!
As far as Charlotte goes, I've been promised a ticket from a group that will be seated about 15 rows back at about the 18 yard mark. I was told it would be around $115. A buddy of mine paid $180 at midfield a few rows back when Chelsea played PSG a few years ago. I would think upper level would be around $70-80, maybe less in the corners. Pre-Sale is April 2 (need to sign-up at ICC website for access). For access to the Arsenal America ticket block, you need an AA membership (not sure if this is on April 2, or earlier). General sale is April 9. There are certain sections outside of the AA block that they will advise are for Arsenal supporters, vs Roma. Not sure what they are yet though.
So are you gonna go to the Arsenal Bayern game in your own backyard, or fly out to Charlotte to see both your teams face off?? Choices . . .
Definitely my back yard. But only if its less than $100 or so. Don’t want to pay $180 for a summer friendly, that’s just ridiculous...unless it includes a chance to meet Pires
I feel like prices for the LA game are going to be higher, 1) because it's LA and 2) the stadium is about 1/3 the capacity of Charlotte (75k) and DC (82k).
The great thing about the LA stadium is zero bad seats. Just get in. I've sat on the bleachers, on the grass, sidelines, corners...they're all great.
yeah, at 25K, the RedBull Arena felt that way for the Arsenal game a few years back. I was upper deck and felt like I was right on top of the game.
That's what I was thinking. Not sure if that will apply to the official face values, but it's quite likely to apply to the aftermarket, e.g. Stubhub. So what's with the signup for ICC pre-sale? I just gave them my info & email and up popped "You're all set". But no confirmation email, no way to login, no visibility on ticket/pricing details. Is the pre-sale signup just a lame way of capturing your email address? Does it actually do anything?? It would be nice to know a little more before April 2 rolls around! For those of us debating whether to buy tickets, and on the early side.
As I recall from the New York red bulls game, information and emails were kind of last minute. Think the email with the code came the morning of and it was a free for all scramble to click and book. Not sure how it's going to work at all with ICC. Not to toot my own horn, but I got my ticket secured today, section 134 and it was $140, not $115 like I was told. Oh well.
