More importantly, as you mention, Gonzalez started the first league match of the season for Atlas.

I sort of thought Gonzalez would head back to MLS, especially with Toronto needing a center back and picking up an allocation spot. But they picked up Ciman instead, and Gonzalez is continuing on with Atlas.

Omar was saying he wanted something different to MLS, since he couldn't stay with the Galaxy. I don't think he plans to return any time soon.

He's also improved his Spanish, so people don't call him a pocho.

    Ended 2-2

Omar ends up a bit in no man's land defending the cross that starts out the highlight video. The left back cuts it out though. Omar was still partially blocking the passing lane.

Random question, but is Omar the biggest defender in the league? I wanna assume he is (being 6'5 and all). Maybe the biggest player overall.

Are we sure we feel good calling him a defender?

Personally, I think center back is more descriptive.

If I wasn't lazy I'd try and write a script that organizes this data set by height, but to be clear, I AM lazy: https://www.foxsports.com/soccer/players?competition=6&season=2018

Showed the same to worse as a bunch of other younger prospects with more upside. Still have such a sour taste from his OG in Trinidad, hopefully he's allowed to continue his career away from the national team spotlight
