I WAS ANGRY ALREADY WHEN I REALIZED THAT NETHERLANDS AND GERMANY WOULD BE IN THE SAME GROUP AGAIN, BECAUSE GERMANY HAD MORE TO WIN THAN LOSE.......THEY WOULD GET A QUICK CHANGE FOR REVENGE, BUT NETHERLANDS WOULD HAVE MORE TO LOSE THAN WIN.

THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN THE SAME GROUP AGAIN!!!! AAAARGH!!!

 

Anyone can slip like that plus Sane is arguably the fastest player I’ve seen for a while ..

He’s just made amends with a real good goal .

Anyways his ability on the ball means he’s ideal for us !!

Defense was atrocious. All deserve 0 ratings. Don't care that De Ligt got a goal, he was awful defensively. Van Dijk also looked like total crap

First goal was a slip , second was a worldie , third was scored by a rare scorer getting his wrong foot to a decent cross - bet he was more surprised than anyone ..

Meantime how many chances were missed by Holland ??

 

I am so disappointed with this result. Actually, even 2-2 wasn't satisfactory for me, let alone a 2-3 loss.
I think, however, this is a good timing for a loss. It's enough before the nations league and the Euros, so that Koeman and the players can get their feet into the ground again and work on solutions.
Obviously, Dumfries needs to improve his defensive game. the three German goals came from his side!
We need pacier players upfront. Stengs, Danjuma & Dilrosun should get a chance.
Our midfield is still not good enough for the top level. They were dominated big time tonight.

 

Cillessen - 5. Made some big saves but also let in 3. Needs to go to a team where he can actually play instead of always sitting on the bench.

Dumfries - 2. Love the way he gets up field and how aggressive he can be, but he got burnt a few times defensively and was caught behind the Germans too many times

De Ligt - 1. Worst performance in an Oranje jersey yet. Absolutely dreadful defending. Gave up way too much space and lost his markers way too often. Even with the goal he had a brutal day. Still so young and promising but showed he still has a lot to learn

Van Dijk - 4. Definitely not the type of performance we sre used to from VVD. Didn't close gaps quick enough and seemed to struggle with the pace at times from the Germans.

Blind - 2. Takes way too long to make plays. Gets the ball and can't move it quick enough to try and counter. I'm getting so tired of seeing Blind in an Oranje jersey.

Wijnaldum - 2. A very poor performance for Wijnaldum. I'm a big fan of his at Liverpool but too often he is invisible with Netherlands. Hardly noticed him out there.

De Roon - 2. Does nothing to create. Supposed to help defensively yet the midfield gave up so much space for the Germans. Was pointless to have him out there.

De Jong - 6. Part of the midfield that was lost in the first half. He started to shine in the second half. Made good reads and outlets that not many can do. Such a smart player but not at his best today .

Babel - 0. The reason Oranje goes home with 0 points. Winger situation is awful.

Memphis - 8. Player of the game once again for Netherlands. Always trying to create and had another two points. Brings his best for Oranje.

Promes - 3. Made a good cross that should have been an assist. Other than that, he just doesn't seem to do anything with the ball. Not in good form.

Bergwijn - 2. Only came on at half but did nothing. Like his potential but he has to start doing something.

One of the worst first half performance I have ever seen from the Netherlands. Laid back and gave up all sorts of room to Germany and then tried to rush them at the worst possible times. It was mind boggling. Came out in second half and finally started comanding the game and pushed. Energy seemed to die late and they gave up a crushing goal.

Even though the defense was dreadful today, a Van Dijk and De Ligt combo is great to have moving forward. Midfield you have De Jong who is world class and then up front Memphis is elite with Oranje. It is filling in those places though where it starts to get ugly still. Still need two much better wingers. A leftback and another top midfielder
