That tweet is a pretty big not to Sarge. Harnick quoted as saying "I needed to really justify coach's decision to include me in the 18 and, for example, made a difficult decision with Sargent." In other words, Sargent seems to still be in the mix of who to be on the gameday bench.

I was trying to come up with a clever way to justify my thinking there. In the end "brainfart" was the only justification which came to mind. Point taken.

I suspect the person who mentioned Eggestein leaving meant Johannes.

Hopefully. Or Harnik just feels the void of Pizarro’s injury.

If Josh doesn’t show anything more in training his coach is going to think putting him in will just be another poor performance.

Harnik and Bartels getting in before Sargent. If old man pizzaro was healthy, he’d be on the bench too.

Loan him to another bundesliga club next year imo.

Good result for the team though. They have pulled ever closer to a Europa League spot (while also keeping Bayer from gaining ground on another yank abroad's team - Adams's Leipzig - for a Champions League spot). Sargent was just extended, so I hope that next season will be more profitable for him.

Why would they loan him? Sargent is a cheap squad player and excellent cover for when the old guys get hurt. I expect next year will look a lot like this year for Sargent. Not a total disaster since it's early in the WC cycle but not good from a US Soccer perspective to have our top forward prospect playing center bench in Germany.

It was a great result for Bremen. But our boy is officially buried for the year. You can expect more the same next year since Bremen will likely sell Max Eggestein and have some cash to bring in new attacking players. He's their most valuable player and rated at 25 million euros by transfermarkt.

After today it seems obvious Bartels is ahead of our boy on the team sheet now. He really took a shot for the team today. Fair play to him.

Can’t blame anyone besides Sargent. He’s looked like he doesn’t belong the last 2-3 games.

His last three games played are
2 min (no one can look like they do or don’t belong in 2 min)
15 min (won the foul that led to pizzaros game winning goal. He looked fine in this game)
61 min (started and looked like he is better off the bench for 20-30 min periods. But, he no means had a shocker)

So, your post doesn’t really match up with the facts here.

you guys need patience he's only 19. Striker isn't a simple position especially the younger one is.

if he doesn't play much that's still a pretty decent 1st pro season regardless.
