Pulisic has a chance of starting today. Gotze, Alcacer, and Philipp are not active. Gotze has a broken rib and will miss several weeks. Not sure what's up with Paco. But we know Favre, and he may start Dahoud over Pulisic, but I still have hope.
This dortmund team should be running away with the league and should have beat the Hotspuds. Except that Fivvr is a gutless and unimaginative coach. In that first leg away to Tottenham, he faced a team without Kane. He faced a team hurting on the defensive end. So what did he do: he started 3 dminds and Goetze. I think experts refer to this line up as Chicken Shit. So what did Ponch do: he pushed his defensive line all the way up so Verto could get in the game and without a single player in the midfield to pass for BVB, Tottenham wins a match they should have lost. In the first 15 minutes both Sancho and CP established two important things: 1. The defenders could not in any way cope with their pace and 2. There was tremendous space behind the defense for that speed. Except: fivvr had a false nine and 3 dmids. No one to pass to them. They were controlling space Tottenham was happy to conceded. Fivvr needed to play a simple 4-4-2 with Sancho and CP shading that back line as strikers. He then needed to start 2 dmids and 2 creative passers. And like that, they would have won 3-0 or 4-0. He has done the same thing in the league this last month. I still can't believe the team of Klopp and Teuchel is now slowly fading into mediocrity because they can't find a decent coach.
For a rare occasions, I actually agreed with you. This team should have had the title in their pockets by now. They had a 9 points lead, BM was struggling badly. Too bad Favre is dragging this team down. He's a pretty average, at best, defensive minded coach. 90% of their points are because of the players they have, rather than the XOs that the manager put in place.
Cp being eaten alive on dortmund threads. They are laughing abiut how chelsea fans will always hate dortmund for selling a 73 million € reserve player who cant shoot a ball to save his life.
Pew Lisitch decently involved but a bit wasteful. I think CP can beat him out for playing time going forward.
Pulisic was great in the buildup the 2nd half and creating some chances, but man he blew some sitters.
At least you can say he had more success when he was switched to the left wing 2h. He has some noticeable attacking inefficiencies in his game. I'm really hoping Sarri can play a big role in helping to develop him further.
He was poor, but poor as he was, no one deserves so much hatred from the fans. And right now he has fans of two teams to hate on him. Hopefully he just plays FIFA and never checks online message boards.
He looks tired. Not tired from short term effects. Like he's highly stressed and it's drained him. Must be hard to be "with" the team when you've already been signed by another.
Not at all. He had a good game. There were no sitters, that’s a wild overstatement. He had a few decent chances and could have done better. But he was also in middle of many good moves including goal buildups.
All the talk is about Pulisic being poor which is understandable because he missed an easy shot and didn't make some good decisions near the goal. Although it wasn't one of his better games, he did some good things that contributed to the win, especially in the 2nd half. His dribble and shot at the beginning of the 2nd half forced the corner that resulted in a goal. His dribble and through ball led to the red card which opened up the game even more. He was also part of the build up for the winning goal. You would think that he was the worst player on the field just by reading the comments, but Weigl and Burki were both worse.
They probably think that Dortmund would have scored five or six goals if only Pulisic wasn't there to miss those chances. And by "they", I mean "idiots." Because it looks like the last time Dortmund scored more than four goals in an away league game was in 2016.
Anyway, I didn't see the game so I can't comment on Pulisic's overall performance, but I've found that fans who obsessively criticize missed scoring chances often tend to be not all that insightful on the whole. A couple principles that some seem to miss: 1. In order to repeatedly waste good scoring chances, you have to be repeatedly involved in good scoring chances. 2. Even pretty good scorers will have strings of failed chances, without it necessarily meaning much. If you flip a coin repeatedly, you'll sometimes get tails three times in a row - that doesn't mean that something has gone wrong with the coin.
