These wise philosophers of soccer were the same ones who talked about how good it would be for Pulisic to stay at Dortmund last summer. Lucky for Pulisic, Chelsea were up against an imminent transfer ban and snapped up CP in a very quiet winter transfer season. The chemistry at Dortmund obviously didn't suit Pulisic.

Adams and McKennie faced off today, with Leipzig coming out on top 1-0 away at Schalke.

Adams played as the 6, and turned in a MotM performance. He covered his attackers flawlessly, won every 50/50 ball I could remember, and did his customary job of quickly connecting the attack.

McKennie was again misplayed as a RWB. He was very dangerous when he cut into the middle, and was involved in almost all of Schalke’s few chances.

CCV playing LB for Swansea in the FA cup against City. Up 2-0. Not watching so if anyone is how’s he look? Also if he continues to see time there could end up being a good fit for 3Gs LB/LCB role in his system.

And they lose 3-2. CCV gives up a PK tho it was harsh from the replay I saw.

Pulisic’s desicion making has been suspect today. He’s been selfish when unnecessary. He missed a sitter. But, he’s been sitting in that left-central channel and involved and connecting.

Weston and Tyler touch videos from today's match including yank v yank violence. Both played very well, Adams as a #6 in a diamond and McKennie as a RWB in a 3-1-4-2.

Adams and McKennie were both their teams best players today. Tyler is going to be sold for a lot of money. Wes is very influential in the final third, let’s hope he gets sold and gets deployed properly next year.

Pulisic was absolutely terrible In the final third, again. His final product is a glaring weakness.

Let’s hope Sargent gets some minutes tomorrow.

More accurately, his finishing was terrible. He was running rampant on HB the entire second half.

No. My post was accurate. His finishing was bad, yes. He also made mistakes in passing/not passing in the final third. Hence, my post was, he was terrible in the final third.

Harsh? It wasn't a penalty. He nicked the ball out and the diving diver, Raheem Sterling, conned the ref.

Eh I understand this but the ref didn’t get a replay. This isn’t a VAR situation. It was harsh because the ref didn’t have the benefit of the doubt. From his angle it’s a tough call at full speed. I’d give it 50/50 in real time, hence the harsh.

Im not bashing the ref. I understand there was no VAR ... just saying it wasnt a penalty, just like Aguero was offside on the winner. Swansea got jobbed with 2 incorrect calls that cost them the game.

He had open shots at goal. Only one try was unacceptable. He could’ve scored on 3/4 of those tries.

I'm convincing myself that right now, Puli's best role for us could be as a shuttler. He's unstoppable getting the ball from 40 yards from the defensive goal, to about 30 yards from the offensive goal. Once it gets there, though .....

I mean, I also think he's unstoppable playing balls across the box when he's a winger. But, that doesn't seem to be the role anyone wants to play him in.

Berhalter is talking about playing him as a dual-10?

    Right now, I'm thinking

    ------------------F
    W--------------Wes-------------W
    ----------------------------Puli
    --------Adams

Wasn’t it a year or two ago that he had more touches inside the 18 than 95% of Europe and had more key passes that 95% of Europe inside the 18.

    here
I wasn't aware of that, but he's not converting those touches and "key passes" into goals or assists. How many goals or assists did he have that year?

To me, that's a big argument *against* using him as a 10. "more touches inside the 18 than 95% of Europe? And, what did he do with it.

I will say that I'd wager that a huge percent of those touches inside the 18 were outside the box. He seems to be used more centrally these days, which I don't get. He is virtually unstoppable at getting close to the endline (outside the box) and slotting in a ball on the ground. If we used him that way, that would be awesome. As a winger.

But, his club doesn't use him that way anymore. And, that's not what Berhalter is talking about.

I would not be surprised if he either 1) ends up as an 8 at Chelsea; 2) ends up on the bench.

Omar G is a spectator today for Atlas, as they trail 1-0 to Toluca late in the second half.

Yeah, I am taping this game just to get an idea what he was up to. He has been a steady starter and 90 minute guy for Atlas but on the bench for this one. Atlas playing 3 in the back in this game which I believe is a little different for them.

Danny Williams returned to action today for the first time in three and a half months. He and Huddersfield confirmed that they will be returning to the Championship.
