Judging by the other players in that lineup, either Pulisic or Reus will be playing as a false #9.

 

Fotmob has Pulisic playing as a striker, that’s weird.

Delaney breaks forward with the ball for Dortmund in a 4-on-3. None of the other 3 (including Pulisic) really find a gap, so Delaney takes a relatively innocuous hit at the ball, which takes a huge deflection to roll into the net.

No flow for Dortmund, fits and starts offensively. No one in attack has looked good yet.

 

Has had 2 opportunities to break (and possibly run at someone with the ball). Held it up and then knocked it back to keep possession on one and then terrible pass for a giveaway on the other. Would like to see him be more confident like we're used to in those situations.

 

Dortmund desperately need someone in CM to hold the ball and spray out to those breaking wingers. Nobody with that skill set on the pitch for them at the moment, and thus they're a scrappy mess.

 

It’s almost like he’s overthinking how he’s supposed to play in the coach’s system post benching.

Has had no positive impact anywhere this half (although pretty uninvolved save for 2-3 moments). He might be off at the half I'd imagine they'll shuffle some things around. At best probably has until the 60th minute to make an impact to show he should stay on.

 

Pulisic looks like he’s in a training session. Not intense.
