The Bangladesh Cricket team, who were visiting the city They weren't inside the mosque. Their bus was just pulling up at the mosque when shooting happened.

@Sounders78 , you're in that part of the world now, right?

And here I was coming to post this about Sandy Hook:

    https://www.npr.org/2019/03/14/7034...inst-gun-manufacturer-allowed-to-move-forward

After months of silence, the Connecticut Supreme Court on Thursday reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the families of nine victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting against Remington Arms, the manufacturer of the rifle used in the shooting.

The court's narrow decision, overturning a lower court judge, rules that Remington can be sued over its marketing practices under a Connecticut state law, despite protections offered to gun manufacturers by federal law. The ruling sends the case back to the lower court.

The livestream gives the who and why of this one. Shame the posting of his decorated murder weapon days prior on twitter didn't raise more alarms.

    This from the daily fail.

Gunman believed to be Australian shoots dead several people in Christchurch mosque and livestreams the massacre - as more bodies are found at a second mosque

Witnesses reported hearing 20 shots and seeing 'blood everywhere'. Police are responding to the incident in Christchurch on the country's South Island.

One thing is different about this shooting than how things are handled in the U.S. ... it might have been done by white people (the early indications seem that way), and yet NZ's Prime Minister has already called it "terrorism."

'Trump is a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose': New Zealand gunman's sick manifesto reveals he supported the president and wanted to spark 'a civil war in the U.S.' by massacring dozens

Brenton Tarrant from Grafton, New South Wales, Australia, claimed in his 74-page manifesto that he supported President Donald Trump as a 'symbol of renewed white identity'.

[Trump]Some people would say that Tarrant is a very fine person. There's blame on both sides for this violence.[/Trump]

Oh yeah and thoughts and prayers!

Trump mindlessly tweets out link to anti-Muslim website shortly after New Zealand mosque shooting

President Donald Trump tweeted out a link to the anti-Muslim Breitbart News website shortly after news broke about a massacre at a New Zealand mosque.

The shooting, which left 49 people dead, was live-streamed on Facebook, and the gunman apparently posted a manifesto on the far-right-friendly 8chan forum and set up other social media accounts to promote the screed ahead of the massacre.

Just a little encouragement for like minded people from 'Your' president.

Actually, has the police been able to determine the number of shooters? Is it the same Aussie dude who did the killings in both mosques?

On a related note, a colleague at work just received the full 17 minutes video. I refused to watch it and told him not to share it around.

Don't watch the video. I read an account of it from someone who did watch it, and the account is horrifying alone. There is exactly zero reason for anyone not in an official capacity to watch this video. There is no such thing as a morbid curiosity for it. There is nothing of value for anyone - other than authorities - to be gained from watching the slaughter of innocent people.

As for the number of shooters, they're still not sure, but, according to the video, there was an accomplice to the shooter inside of the first mosque that the shooter with the camera was shouting to. One person was charged so far, and that was the person wearing the camera, as far as I can tell.

No plans to watch it. It is just awful that it is being circulated around. I was reading an article about the reactions on the dark web, particularly on 8Chan and the likes. A lot of "celebrations" there. Sick people and dangerous too.

Betcha those are 99% male sites. Women have plenty of issues, as a species, but getting excited by watching people die is generally not one of them.
