Why would anyone that follows MLS want a team to fail? That is ridiculous!

Well, the commissioner and BoG seemed to want that in a certain market last year...

Yup, I'm even rooting for success in Austin.

But I was fully Stockholm Syndromized by the time MLS {ahem} abducted the Quakes and I kept supporting the league.

Does kinda feel like a bait and switch doesn't it? But when you drill a little deeper it's pretty easy to see they have no other good options. Marlin's Park would be a worse venue than Yankee Stadium. Hard Rock is an excellent large soccer facility. But the scheduling and field conditions would be a bitch! Not to mention the Dolphins owner is not exactly friendly to the the Inter Miami group. And last but not least is FIU's Stadium. Named after MLS arch enemy Riccardo freaking Silva...

I think it can work as a temporary venue particularly with the training facility on-site. I assume the stadium itself will be a USL sized stadium with additional temporary seating. Easily downsized when and if the team is able to get their planned stadium park completed.

I personally don't want an MLS team to fail, per se, but I do hope Austin never wins any trophies and that they lose so that other teams can win!

At least as long as PSV is part of the investor group

Austin and Miami should read San Antonio and Saint Louis.
But Becky and Precourt are like our league's refs, blind in one eye n can't see out the other.

Actually there was a time when MLS was bending over backwards to get San Antonio in but Sinclair fought it and that was that. So they can wait ! As for St Louis they until recently never really had solid ownership groups. I understand the hate but keep in mind that if Precourt hadn't agreed to buy and at least keep the team in Columbus for a few years anything could have happened in 2006 when no investors we're interested in the Columbus situation.

Well, since HSG didn't sell the team until 2013 I literally have no idea what you're talking about.

And subsequent events have proven that there were and are investors willing to buy the team. Are you paying attention?

Your understanding of the facts us astonishingly fact free

I'm good with Austin joining MLS, we need a MK Dons/RB Leipzig team to hate

Even then, not until every other team has tasted success, especially the next generation of expansion teams that PSV just shunted to the back of the queue.

    Says I, anyway.
