100% fan of Cavani, I'd definitely consider him (if available). In particular as it'd give us some breathing room for a year or two.

    Fernando Kallás(Brazilian Journo):

    Zidane drives Neymar away

The Vinicius effect, the explosion of Mbappé and the reluctance of the French coach are some of the reasons that puts him very low on the list of possible reinforcements.

What about the last 3 back to back to back UCL titles? You know, one of the greatest achievements in the sports history?

He'd be a good addition for liga games, but in big games? We'd be disappointed on a regular basis, many similarities with Higuain, both good and bad... and on high wages.

I'd consider it only if we really had no other options and had a young forward lined up already.

That’s when you factor in Ronaldo in terms of the goalscoring, personally I am hoping we fix a problem we have had for two seasons now, ( especially in the league) it really just cannot be Benz alone as a recognized striker for us anymore no matter how much he is loved by the coach and management, he desperately needs to have competition for his spot, it’s time, and negligence IMO if no one at all is secured for that role again ( no disrespect to Mariano but we are Madrid)

I wrote about him on this thread right after the CL match between Roma and Porto. I was trying to catch a glance of Militao.

You had the greatest goal scorers of all time playing right besides him. Without goals coming from other source you simply cannot win with Benz.
Who can fill that goal gap and doesnt play as a center forward?

We all know what kind of player Benzema is, if you statistically compare him to others he will come up short every single time. But he offered a lot to us and especially to Cristiano and was a fundamental part of a team that made history.

I am 100% up for signing another forward that will actually compete with him or even replace him. As long as he's not someone like Mariano...

We need a better back up striker, but I am fine with Vinicius - Benz - Hazard as starters. Add Eriksen in midfield who can score more than our current midfielders. We can't find another Ronaldo so hopefully ZZ can build an all round team like Heyneckes Bayern plus the depth ZZ had in 2016-17.

We’re in the same boat as we were last summer in terms of strikers. There isn’t an available clear upgrade on Benzema out there. Karim will lead the line again next season.

I don’t buy the Jovic stuff, not that I don’t rate the player but I don’t see Perez spending big on a striker with one good season under his belt.

Anyone remember Belotti? Few people here were ok with spending 100M on him. Yikes.

40-50m is not bad deal if we can get him

How many goals do you think each would score in a season?
I can only see Benz as a starting forward if he has a serious goal threat besides him on the wings (Mbappe/Salah) or if we switch to 4-4-2 with him being the 2nd striker dropping deep, in which case we will still need a starting forward up front.

Benz 30 in all competitions without penalties, Hazard 20 and Vinicius 10. Benz only got to play with Vinicius(our best creative player) for few months and Hazard is great at creating chances as well. Eriksen 10 in all competitions. Get a rotation striker that can score 15+.

I for one am not looking forward to that, we need an alternative, even in style ( a striker that occupies the box more, creates more danger in the box and fights with defenders for every ball) everyone wants the team refreshed but some seem happy to keep one of our most inconsistent players over the last 2 and a half seasons because Hazard or whoever is coming,

If it’s about lack of alternatives fair enough, but if it’s about how many goals he’s scored this season i’m not on that train, when we really needed goals he was nowhere to be found and that’s not an anomaly, still, if it happens maybe he’ll prove me wrong, but I doubt it

That was the dream for this season, I don’t trust Benz to do what he’s supposed to do, too many long stretches of just supposed fantastic “link up” play , without goals

I don’t disagree with any of this, we need a striker who will cause chaos in the box. And I’d rather not rely on Benz again but the market is what it is. Timing is everything and I don’t see Perez breaking bank on a player who might outperform Benzema.

We might have better luck pushing for a right winger who can score goals. Not sure who that player would be

Mbappe is a long term project, he's a player that we need to really work into him wanting to leave rather than the club making an aggressive approach for him.

Need to relay that message over a long time so that him signing here would seem like a logical conclusion. I don't think he's a candidate for this summer, but if this works out long term with Zidane, i can see it when he's growing tired of not challenging himself every weekend.

To be fair it doesn't show the attempts, or the amount of time on the ball that he gets. I am sure that no other Premier League team plays through one single player as much as Chelsea do with Hazard, so despite him being fantastic player, that's sure to increase your stats considerably.

Zidane has been courting Mbappe since he was 14. No doubt in my mind we’ll try this summer, but it isn’t happening.

PSG aren’t driven by money and unfortunately , they consider themselves giants in Europe. They’ll keep adding to the squad. It’s been said a million times, the only way Mbappe leaves is if he runs his contract down. If he renews at any point he’s spending his prime years in the golden prison.

Impressive stats no matter how you slice it, being on the ball doesn’t automatically translate to chances created, you actually have to be good with said ball to make things happen, doing so 74 times ? That’s a world class number.
Looking forward to see him produce similar numbers with us.
