Yeah, robertson is solid. But hes their only decent player. I dont think tierney or snodgrass are at that level. And whilst i respect the performance football initiative i humbly disagree that implementing an extra hour coaching for a select few 12 year olds per day is as ambitious as building st georges park.

Robertson is good, and definitely not slow. Having said that, we've got Shaw, Chilwell and Rose so I'm not exactly jealous that he's Scottish.

It’s less expensive. Saying it’s less ambitious is a bit misguided, imo. Feels like you made your mind up before you’d even heard of it tbh.

In terms of FA driven player development, it’s far beyond anything we’ve done. That’s pretty undeniable.

You were praising the FA for producing the DNA document, but you can’t give the Scots credit for implenting a nationwide scheme to give their best youngsters daily specialist coaching. Imagine how exciting that would be if England did it on a relative scale.

Is the net effect of the EPPP not the same? The contact time with coaches was increased pretty significantly for players in the best academies.

That's not an FA driven scheme though.

I know it has no bearing on our squad (and probably never will) but Bamford has turned down Ireland. Wants to wait until the summer ie. Wait to see if he's promoted to the prem and possibly make one last push to play for England.

Pretty sensible, there's no clear 3rd striker after Kane and Rashford right now. Very much up for grabs and it wouldn't take much to get capped.

I am not refusing them credit, and is clearly a positive step, I just dont think its actually particularly ambitious or groundbreaking. And i disagree it is far beyond the kind of joined-up coaching housed at st Georges that impacts grass roots

he switches in games vs England too....
We have deliberately picked out the top favorites for the last two games before the EURO, which will be two real tests, after which we will know where we stand and in which areas we may still be facing I look forward to Lukas Nmecha and Emmanuel Iyoha, who will be there for the first time, as well as some players who have been missing out on various occasions in recent games. " Joti Chatzialexiou, Sports Director National Teams, added: "Lukas Nmecha has expressed his interest in playing for the DFB and his native Germany and we would like to support the player in this project, which is why we have requested FIFA to change association.Regardless of whether this is up to the games, Lukas and the team can use the international match to get to know each other. "

seems like applying for a one time switch. Weird how Lukas was the one who said he prefers England while his bro prefers Germany. Yet he's the one who goes to Germany.

Very curious. Maybe they just see the opening to a spot with Germany.

No individual will be fatal, but I think that's a big loss.

Going to be funny seeing him playing for Germany against us but short term he wouldn’t get into our U21 Squad as a striker tbf or if so who would he replace? We can’t even find a place for Che Adams. Long term off course who knows and would probably have been in the next cycle as he’s been playing well for Preston despite his lack of goals.

If Germany can offer him a faster route then good luck to him even though kind of gutted he’s gone. Still remember him scoring that winning goal that won us the U19 title a few years ago.

he actually scored the winning goal in both knockout games in the 2017 U19 Euros.

Scored the 1-0 win vs Czech in SF, in 90+3 min.
Scored the 2-1 winner vs Portugal in the Final to win the whole thing.

    What does

‘Regardless of whether this is up to the games’ mean? Obviously it’s a rough translation.

Yeah, think the one against the Czechs was a lovely little back heel on the edge of the six yard box, really good finish.

it means they haven't gotten approval for 1 time switch yet. If it's clear on time he plays and if not it'll be about getting to know L.Nmecha for the next call up.

Can't help but think this will be the precursor to Felix switching over next year. He's been so good recently that England could maybe dangle an U21 infront of him in August, but it's more likely that he can be guaranteed a spot with his brother in their U21s.

I think Felix would be a much bigger loss. It would be weird if he ended up with England and Lukas ended up with Germany.

I think the reality is that he likely switched because with England he's more of a bench/sub option that starts here and there and usually in friendlies too.

it's something I noticed for awhile too.

that's always the problem with players with more NT options, if they aren't satisfied with their situation they jump ship.

Nigeria are likely to be the most sad at not being able to get him.

Won’t Felix have a better pathway with England considering our midfield options are usually not as talented depth wise as our strikers usually are and Germany are usually blessed with midfield options and maybe less so with strikers?
