Brian McBride's Fulham teams had a bit more firepower when compared to Wood's B1 sides. And McBride only once led the team in scoring.

    McBride's goal scoring rank within Fulham: 5th 5th 2nd 1st 3rd
    Wood's B1 rank: 1st 5th 1st

Wood, Weydandt, and Bebou have 3 goals each in the league. Weydandt is the leading scorer in all competitions with 5.

Yeah, I'm just adding context to the claims he is not B1 level.

Frankly, I think he is a tweener.. sort of like Alfredo Morales in that they could float between upper B2 and lower B1 (we all float here... wait that is Stephen King). Conor Casey was also probably in that category. If you catch them on a hot run, you can catch lightning in a bottle, but they didn't sustain a level of production that would merit much interest above "tweener"

Bobby should troll Kicker and change his jersey number to 6.

He has spent the last 3 seasons in the B1 and is on more than $3.5 million a year. Don't know if that is reasonably a 'tweener'.

TBF McHead only had 20+ games in 3 FFC seasons. Those 3 seasons he was already 30, funnily enough:
    06/07 - 24 apps - 25th EPL scorer- FFC #1
    05/06 - 23 apps - 20th EPL scorer - FFC #2
    04/05 - 22 apps - 56th EPL scorer- FFC #3
    03/04 - 12 apps - 4 goals in 12 games

And it's hard for me to remember the exact play of every Fulham team back in the McHead era, but I struggle to recall one as hapless as H96. I admit to not seeing a lot of Wolfsburg or PNE. That said - I did see enough FFC to know that a lot of the good that did happen to happen at CC came from McHead. Wood has struggled to make that kind of overall impact, obviously, but he's younger and a very different personality. Hope his knee is ok.

At some point we have to admit that our low-scoring forwards on low-scoring, crap teams are part of the problem.

We are awful at developing strikers. You could make a pretty convincing case that Altidore is the best pure striker we've ever had.

17 goals in B2 and 5, 2, and 3 in B1 suggests tweener to me. I am not saying he is not Bundesliga quality but that his production suggests he could hover between upper B2 and relegation fodder B1 which is largely where he has been.

The context that is what others in those teams were doing doesn't really support the claim.

The problem with our most recent strikers is that they have lacked a Donovan serving them the perfect pass.

I think pre-injury Mathis was up there. Certainly the best crotch-grabber we've ever produced.

    Poetry? or Sanskrit.

I cut and paste them from an old screen grab, but the app numbers have to be wrong. McHead had more appearance, I think. Maybe 34, 33, 32?

He was not a prolific "assist" guy in general, but I didn't check. I would guess nothing special.

Well they certainly are rarely part of the solution.

McHead is our 3rd highest WC goalscorer in the modern era... so...

McBride scored 45 goals for Fulham and Everton.

Jozy scored what, 3 goals for Hull/Sunderland?

Wood scored about 10 goals for Hamburg/Hannover.

    Not seeing the comparison.

Not sure what this is in reference to. I was pointing out that McBride was more prolific than Wood is so far - although not by leaps-and-bounds.

is there a worthy comparison between the type of goals McBride scored compared to the others?
