Arsenal vs. Manchester United Emirates Stadium, London Sunday, March 10, 2019 12:30 PM EST NBC ~ “I want to live my life in such a way that when I get out of bed in the morning, the devil says, 'aw shit, he's up!'" Steve Maraboli The Red Devils come to Ashburton Grove with two teams a mere point apart in their fight for top 4, yet they come into the match with decidedly different mindsets after their respective mid-week trips to France for European competition. ManU is riding high under an interim manager named Gunnar, no less, whose every move seems to succeed as if he's made a deal with the devil. The actual Gunners, meanwhile, seem cursed by the devil of late, desperate to find a consistent and comprehensive display devoid of the asinine moments that have cost them points in their past 2 matches. Apart from the long-term injured only Torreira is listed as unavailable. (suspension) It's the Premier League's feature match of the weekend and one that will be televised globally. The lads will know what's at stake. Will they have the steel to take the game to United and claim the much needed home win? If they can show the discipline of last weekend's trip to S***s and at least some offensive savvy there is a decided chance. C'mon you Gunners!
Finally a decent kick off time for us on the west Been going to Fox n Hounds recently, lots of Arsenal supporters...but the valley sucks, so back to the Kings Head for this match
Man U are in great form and Arsenal are in pretty hit or miss form, but it's at home so that's good. I really hope we don't get Mustafi in this.
I agree with @GunnerJacket's sentiments, but most pundits seem to be predicting 1–1. Which would be a relatively disappointing/deflating result. Watching how well Alli is linking up with Kane after just minutes of being back together, makes me think that neither united or us are catching them. That said, come on Southampton! Edit: I take it all back about Spurs. Saints be praised!!
Win tomorrow and Arsenal should be odds on for a top 4 finish. It is Arsenal's last game against a top 6 team, while Unied still have to play City and Chelsea, Tottenham have to play City and Liverpool, and Chelsea have to play United and Liverpool.
Well, not "decide" as in final decision. But without doubt these are the two most important games of our season so far. And in this competition, the "Arsene Wenger Trophy" is surely up for grabs now!
Yeah I was honestly surprised lookin at our fixtures, I was anticipating more difficult matches but we've gotten most of them out of the way. This season has flown by
At the very least they'll set the tone for the team as we go down the stretch. Win and the team has both belief and something for which to play. Edit: Came back to check on thread. Reread my post. Realized I should've just said "yeah." I blame the rum. God I need a date.
Not the best SNL sketch of all time, but it speaks to the amazing infiltration the EPL (and our humble club) has made into mainstream American culture!
Always keeping us on our toes, Emery goes with Laca & Auba combined! And AMN... Arsenal 19 Leno 5 Papastathopoulos 6 Koscielny 18 Monreal 15 Maitland-Niles 8 Ramsey 34 Xhaka 31 Kolasinac 10 Özil 9 Lacazette 14 Aubameyang Substitutes 1 Cech 4 Elneny 17 Iwobi 20 Mustafi 22 D Suárez 29 Guendouzi 49 Nketiah Edit: In my haste, I didn't notice Ozil in there too. AND he's playing with Ramsey at the same time!! Wow, this Emery guy is full of surprising partnerships... just hope they pay off.
Was about to post that. Both Ramsey and Ozil, too. Given Torreira's absence I like the lineup. No Mustafi, which is good.
Yeah it seems to have been made based a lot on form & trust. E.g. Mustafi & Guendouzi are dropped. Hope the 3-4-3(?) and the chemistry works!! Edit: Rotation & injuries surely factored in too (e.g. Mustafi's knock on Thurs?)
It's very windy day in the UK. I wonder if that contributed to the extreme swerve he got on that shot? Maybe he knew that when he hit it? Who cares... brilliant opening goal. So COME ON... go for TWO NOW!
