If he gets it, let's say in 3 years and he gets worse as a player at Betis, what's the benefit of skipping two years in comparison to 5 years in the Netherlands. If he isnot paying attention he could have a fast EU passport, but than nobody wants him anymore as he's a failure with Betis.
I think it's two years for people from former Spanish colonies in Spain. So if he applied for it already, he could have it March 2021. I don't think he will be a failure at Betis but I do think he would end up a better player over going to Ajax over Betis... He is good enough to play and compete now. If Betis doesn't work out, he should still be able to find another good club.
