    Roazhon Park

A trip to Brittany for our next Europa league match. And......that's all I got. Don't know much about Rennes other than that they're currently not faring too well in Ligue Un. COYG!

Perhaps ironic that "Stade Rennes" plays at "Raozhan Park" :p

I looked it up and it seems it'll only be live on B/R streaming. Unlike recent games, it doesn't look like we'll be on one of the spanish TV channels.

Last but not least, props to @yossarian for being the most on-the-ball thread starter we've had in some time. Long may his reign continue!

There is some hope, my cable provider didn't show Arsenal's last Europa league game as scheduled on one of the spanish channels until the day before. Prior to that the menu just showed Europa League.

Yeah, but I checked LiveSoccerTV (known to be reliable?) and the only match they show on spanish TV is Sevilla-Slavia on Univision. We'll have to see, but don't get your hopes up.

All I know is that Torreira needs to start this one, prolly next to Guendouzi. Jenks should as well.

Galavision just says "Futbol central" from 11-4. Maybe there's be 2 games in there?

Yup. My DVR guide says 12:00 Futbol Central, 12:30 Europa League, 2:50 Europa League.

No big surprises in the line-up, except maybe Ozil playing in an away match? Crossing my fingers for him.

I couldn't see the line-up posted in the embedded tweet above so for anyone else who had the same issue, here it is in raw text:

    Arsenal
    • 1 Cech
    • 20 Mustafi
    • 5 Papastathopoulos
    • 6 Koscielny
    • 18 Monreal
    • 11 Torreira
    • 34 Xhaka
    • 7 Mkhitaryan
    • 10 Özil
    • 17 Iwobi
    • 14 Aubameyang
    Substitutes
    • 8 Ramsey
    • 15 Maitland-Niles
    • 19 Leno
    • 22 D Suárez
    • 29 Guendouzi
    • 31 Kolasinac
    • 49 Nketiah

    Aggressive lineup. I like it.

And big 17 with a lucky goal.

ALEX IWOBI! 1-0 speculative shot, but beautifully taken curler to the back post, form the edge of the area.

Really nice to see him get this. He's put in some much positive effort of late.

Edit: I now see that it was more likely a cross than a shot. But who cares... great for him! great for us!

No way was that a shot. Great outcome, but that was a pass.

I'd have to watch it again. I'm keeping an peripheral eye on the match on my laptop while I work on my main screen, so I didn't exactly see it when it happened.

Meanwhile, more injury news for Arsenal. But if there was any player who some of us might not be super upset about it happening to, it's Mustafi. :p

Edit: He's up and walking so...

I just did, and you both are right: probable cross thus lucky goal.

    Iwobi tries another cross-shot? ;)
This one parried away by their keep!

Various activity in last 10 mins:
    - Mustafi misses wide on a fairly free shot (but bodies in front of goal TBF)
    - Sokratis picks up yellow and sets up dangerous FK
    - Cech with a low save on resulting shot which wasn't exactly trivial

Rennes is in the ascendency. We REALLY need a SECOND GOAL. Please??

Oh boy! Sok picks up his 2nd yellow. Down to 10 men. Great.

Clumsy, stupid challenge from behind on a player streaking into our box.

Edit; And of course THEY EQUALIZE on the resulting FK. Arsenal Implosion.

Wow, I just saw a close-up of Ozil for the first time at 47'. I honestly forgot he was in the game. Bad sign?

    HT 1-1

2T should be "fun". Playing a man down. The crowd a major factor now. Oh joy.

Guendouzi in for Iwobi. Are we gonna try to manage the final 40 mins and escape with a draw? Wouldn't be a disaster, but I never like that strategy.

Rennes really should have just scored.

It also looks like we're playing a 4-2-3 with Mkhitaryan at RB. Feels like we should have brought on Kolasinac or AMN at half.

Absolutely. But how confident are you that we can achieve that? They're peppering Cech with shots which so far he's been up to. But this game seems like it's going to be 2-1 in the wrong direction any minute now.
