The strong positive takeaway is that if the team performs this way for the remaining games it's not impossible to see Arsenal winning out or coming close to such. After ManU Arsenal are done with the top 6. This should also bold well for Europa League play.

The bad is Auba's mindset. Was today an aberration that he can see over by accepting the team performance or will it eat at him and cause a downspell?

To be fair, that is true, but if Rose can high foot, studs up into Leno and just get a yellow, then Torreiras by the same logic should be yellow too.

Jives with what we know: played pretty well on the counter, defended pretty well, and got absolutely hosed. We're right to be upset, but there was cause for optimism.

My hands were shaking from the indignity done to our defence, they deserved the clean sheet at least.

Emery is definetly a good tactician, I think he has shown that over the season, its the rest of the stuff that concerns me. Particularly evaluating players not on his team. Suarez seems worse than Iwobi in everyway based on the research I've been doing.

I think if AMN or even Lichsteiner plays over Mustafi this is a win. Spurs barely even attacked down their left, offensively and defensively anything Mustafi did was terrible.

Kane was offside, and there was encroachment on our penalty, so yeah, we did.

The Premier League desperately needs VAR.

Rose wasn't even close to winning the ball. If Torriera.s foot wasn't high and Rose bundles into to him, the foul is on Rose.

Why didn't they attack down their left? They're not stupid. What were they thinking?

He cooly rounded the keeper and slotted home a nice finish just a few days ago. He'll be fine.

I thought Torreira's was a yellow at best. Slo mo made it look way worse than it was. He got the ball, and his follow through leg got a player who he wasn't even challenging for the ball initially. And yeah, if that was a red, how the hell was Rose's only a yellow?

Well, I agree that our PK was extremely soft. BUT their PK/goal should never have happened, because Kane was offside.

The only "honest, truthful" goal was Ramsey's. So one could make the case that this game should've ended up 1-0 to us.

Unfortunately he's already in the middle of a down spell. Today was just an example of it. His goal in the last match was sadly more of an aberration.

You may be cherry picking. He's been in a relative slump for a little while now

Ultimately, the full points came down to Auba missing the PK. It's not the ref's fault Auba didn't convert the PK as any world class striker should.

Spuds are delighted with the draw as they know it was undeserved and they were fortunate to take a point from this match. That's what frustrates me most: I hate seeing a happy Spuds fan.

No doubt the DVD (or digital download) of this one will be for sale within a matter of days.

Reading some of Poch's post-match comments, I see no evidence that makes me think he isn't cracking under all the pressure.

“I am so happy because we didn’t deserve to lose the game we were better than them so it would be a shame to lose the game in that way."

On refereeing decisions, Pochettino continued: “If you ask me about offside you need to ask about 12 minutes on the pitch Xhaka on Kane which wasn’t a foul, that situation is so difficult to understand."

He and Spurs are a perfect match, because neither can handle any pressure whatsoever.

It was a poor PK, no doubt, but shouldn't the ref or the AR be on the hook for the fact that Vertonghen was encroaching by at least 3 yards before Auba even struck the ball?

He scored a goal. How is that cherry picking?

It’s cherry picking because that’s the bit of evidence @NorthBank doesn’t like. Obviously. :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, before the goal on Wednesday Auba hadn’t scored in the premier league since New Year’s Day.

They absolutely should have called it as it was a clear law violation, but I don't think encroachment absolves Auba for missing though. PKs are often converted when encroachment does happen, and I think all of us should expect Auba or any other players at that level to do the same. It's not like Vertonghen could have won the ball or applied any real pressure while lining up to take the kick.

If encroachment had hindered Auba, I think he or some of the other players would have gestured or done something to draw attention to it.

Auba knew he should have converted it. You could see it in his face and body language.

Don't know what to tell you guys, he's not on form lately, way off his previous strike rate, and looks to be lacking the confidence that's key to his position.

Sure I was aware. They even mentioned it on one of the podcasts I listen to. But how does a slump end but with scoring a goal? Which he did a few days ago.
