So, lineup with WC absences is maybe...
    Betos
    Nielsen, Oyster, Barnes, Westphal
    Long/McNabb, Fishlock/Andrews, Yanez
    Groom, Jenkins, Spencer
(Note: Not sure if Long will make the US squad or not. Fishlock not back until Lyon done.)

    Full squad lineup seems like
    Williams
    Nielsen, Oyster, Barnes, Catley
    Long, Fishlock, Utsugi (or Kellond-Knight?)
    Groom/Yanez, Taylor, Rapinoe

I just saw the Addo news. Definitely did not expect that. And yeah that one less non-world cup player that we could have used. Granted I still think the XI you listed above can maintain the status quo until the full squad is back.

I agree, this is disappointing. We had too many internationals and not enough slots so something needed to be done, but we needed her attacking.

Yeah, I think our defense looks strong even without the WC players, but the question will be whether we can score. Whether Allie makes the US squad is going to be a big factor for us, especially while Jess is still in Lyon.
Sounds like Addo is going to China for a bigger paycheck, which is understandable.

I don't think Allie is going to make the US squad. I think she'll fall just short.

I've seen a crazy post about China and the South African players who apparently now are heading there.

Well, looks like she's hanging on by her fingernails with an invite to SBC camp, but not the SBC games roster. An optimistic view is that Ellis needs to see Sullivan and Colaprico play (even though they got zero minutes against France/Spain) while she already knows what she has with Allie. I think Allie still has a shot to make the WWC roster (esp. with Brian not even making the camp roster.)

I think Allie's possibility is if Ellis thinks there's a player who doesn't need to be on the roster that Allie could replace, and Ellis wants her there for locker room support. A lot of BS posters don't believe in the importance of that kind of support, but I think Ellis does, and on that I agree with her.

Agree with you on locker room/team dynamic. I also think Allie is a much better defensive mid than Sullivan at this point. It’s also unlikely that any of these bubble players vying for the final spot or two will see much playing time in the WC, especially in critical games, so other factors may come into play for Ellis.
Whether Allie is allocated or not this year is likely as big of an issue for the Reign (and their budget) as whether she is here during the WC or not. The allocation announcement should come out soon, if last year is any indication.

Multiple updates have been made to the roster since I last updated this: Oyster resigned, Addo transferred to China, Kleiner and Averbuch "retired", and re signed Morgan Profitt.

Edited to adjust the status of Dallstream who is now a NRI invitee. As you can see we have hit the limit of signed players at 22. So we basically just have opening for the 4 supplemental players.

    Internationals: 4/4
    Squad size: 22/22 (4)

Exercise option, Signed new contract, Federation player, Offered new contract

    Goalkeepers (2)

Thanks for this summary. Small clarification: Is Shea Groom just on the last year option of a contract left over from SkyBlue or a new contract with the Reign?

I wasn't really sure what her status was and didn't want to have another category just for that so I just picked an existing one.

Yeah this was the first thing that caught my eye as well. I think Dallstream have been a faithful steward of the club but it was about time that spot went to a younger player so I'm glad to see that happening.

She was a NRI last year too and made the squad. Of course that doesn't mean she will this year. Word i hear is that she is an excellent clubhouse presence.
She only played 45 minutes last year, but that one half she played was one of the best we saw all year. (We gave her the Reignmaker 'player of the match' pin that game.)

I was at the open practice down in Tacoma last weekend and Dallstream was splitting her time between taking part in scrimmages and doing coaching related activities.

Thanks for the history. Based on these Reign tweets, she’s not on todays preseason match roster. Perhaps transitioning to a coaching position.
