Here are my personal rankings that are more than a little attack biased. 1. Phil Foden 2. Jadon Sancho 3. Emile Smith Rowe 4. Mason Greenwood 5. Mason Mount 6. Callum Hudson Odoi 7. Harvey Elliott 8. Curtis Jones 9. Oliver Skipp 10. James Garner Honourable mentions to Angel Gomes, Louie Barry and Tommy Doyle. I’ve updated my list after watching and catching up on some new players (thanks to members of this forum.) Feel free to critique away and add your own list.
Jadon Sancho Mason Mount Phil Foden Reiss Nelson Marcus Edwards Callum Hudson-Odoi Ryan Sessegnon Emile Smith Rowe Mason Greenwood Curtis Jones
They are deep lists exciting times. Just frustrating they'll be up against the EPL bottleneck. Their agents may have to be creative and earn their money for once. Why no Sessegnon TopB, not criticising btw, I'm useless that this btw. I thought Kane was going to be James Beattie and Josh Mceachran was going to be a more mobile Carrick. Still time Josh.
It's a paradox, isn't it? The talent coming through is better than ever but the pathway is getting harder. My worry with Sessegnon is that he seems to be shifted around positionally. As a forward, he's never going to get in the team ahead of say Sancho or Sterling. However, if he can concentrate on becoming a world class left-back or wing-back then his chances may improve. It's incredibly hard to predict how players will develop, so I'll probably be as wrong as anybody.
Mount - in fairness feyenoordsoccerfan called it Sancho Sess Foden Nelson Oxford (would be replaced by Rice) Panzo CHO Greenwood Jones It's in no real order
My updated top 10 would probably be: 1. Phil Foden 2. Mason Greenwood 3. Harvey Elliott 4. Jadon Sancho 5. James Garner 6. Emile Smith Rowe 7. Callum Hudson Odoi 8. Mason Mount 9. Curtis Jones 10. Jack Clarke
Yeah, it’s probably a poor list from an objective viewpoint. I do love seeing other people’s lists though if you have the time to do one. We have so many incredible young players that it’s hard to rank them.
Felix Nmecha has started to develop into an incredible player btw. Deserves a place somewhere in this discussion, he does everything
He only played against three teams but still nice to hear Nikola Katic describe Foden as his toughest opponent: “It was a really good experience for me because I played against top teams in England and France and the quality was really high. It was a good experience and a good lesson. “The toughest player I faced was Phil Foden. He is an amazing player. For the strikers, it was Tammy Abraham or Moussa Dembele. They were strong. “But Foden was the best. He is very calm on the ball, he can see everything behind me and behind him as well.”
Surprised how high mount is on some lists here (much as i like him). I personally felt he struggled in the u21 championship and worry about him making it to the elite of prem level. Here is my list determined by potential: Sancho Foden TAA CHO Nelson Jude bellingham M. Greenwood Brewster Rice Saka Honorable mentions: sessegnon,Barry, Musiala, Dembele, ESR
1. Sancho 2. Alexander-Arnold 3. Foden 4. Hudson-Odoi 5. Greenwood 6. Rice 7. Nelson 8. Sessegnon 9. Brewster 10. Bellingham
To be fair most of the lists were compiled the better part of a year ago. If I update mine it would probably look something like: Jadon Sancho Phil Foden Callum Hudson-Odoi Reiss Nelson Morgan Gibbs-White Ryan Sessegnon Reece James Rhian Brewster Mason Greenwood Angel Gomes p.s. Rice and TAA are 20 now
Taa Sancho Foden Cho Nelsen But have to say Trent and Sancho are miles in front of everyone right now. Though foden will be joining them soon
In order of potential: Foden Elliott Greenwood Garner Sancho Hudson Odoi Smith Rowe McNeill Brewster Harwood Bellis Hard to leave out Doyle, Barry, Jones, Saka, Bellingham, Mount, Dembele, Gomes and Ashby Hammond.
Not sure how Sancho isn't top of that list tbh. Or am I overrating him? Top 3 I'd go Sancho, Foden, Greenwood, if we're talking potential.
