Now, back to the game, can the media look at the VAR incident when Hazard was onside and broke and was on goal. The linesman flagged, but he is not supposed to, he is supposed to allow play to go on and then look at the VAR. WTF happened there? Nobody reporting on that much, Kepa story everywhere.
IDK, he’s trained to make the call, be decisive. Hard to back off that training just for cup games. Offsides calls go both ways all season long.
Yes. Indeed. But not all games are VAR games. He could have been more lenient and waited. Hazard was onside and he would've scored. Ho-Hum.
RLC, CHO, and Emerson should be nailed on starters at this point. and personally i'd put christensen on for Luiz as well, they both have a few mistakes in them, i'd take letting the younger one learn from them more. oh and i'm not on the CHO is 100% ready wagon. he's CLEARLY still really raw. it's just that he's got more of a spark and willingness and youth over Willian and Pedro at this point that it kind of makes up for a few dribbles down blind alleys right now.
I was half expecting Sarri to announce he was quitting during the press conference. This reminded me of the time Reggie Jackson and Billy Martin got into a fight in the dugout.
I think we’re being too hard on Pedro. When he’s on, he runs hard and can put the ball in the net...but if it’s a three man rotation on that side of the ball, it’s going to be tough to find minutes for all with two cup competitions over, so yeah, maybe Pedro has to be the sacrificial lamb to get CHO the time on the pitch he needs to develop. RLC over Barkley and Kovacic all day for me.
yea i don't disagree. i just don't think the dropoff is significant enough right now, so maybe pedro still starts big games, but CHO should be able to find a lot of minutes until the end of the season. but honestly we may be struggling so much for wins that Sarri can't risk it. at the very least, he needs to be more regularly in the rotation now. but yea, if RLC is healthy, he's over both Kovacic and Barkley for me in that specific position in the midfield three. maybe we start him and sub him off after 60 mins...that's fine. build his fitness. but everytime he's on the pitch he's impressed and his bad games so far just don't seem to be that bad. and that was the big question for me. until we see his off day and it's somehow terrible, he should be in the front out of those three.
Let’s be clear though, CHO doesn’t make us a better side this year. He didn’t have a very good game yesterday.
Let us be clear: Willian is a better player than Pedro. Also, the issue of CHO and RLC and others is not that they should start every game, but that they should get more playing time, they should also come on as subs for the last 15-20 mins at times. Sarri should rotate the team - I was going to say he should rotate the team more, but I think I'll leave out the more part, as he doesn't do it at all. He needs to rotate the players. I just don't understand why he is so violently opposed to doing so. It's not good for the team.
