his team was clearly over-matched in this game but he had an average to decent game. 74:30 stood out as his most impressive moment. stepped in to Intercept a pass at the top of his box and then in traffic swung a ball to the wing for a counter. After the CB's were getting destroyed in the beginning, his coach had him helping out further back as well. Almost like a sweeper at times when in possession.
Morales starts against McKennie and Schalke in the Round of 16 of the DFB-Pokal. Matchday thread is here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/mc...t-schalke-v-dusseldorf-2-6-dfb-pokal.2095729/

Fredo had a half-hockey assist. A lobbed pass to him resulted in a 50/50 ball that rebounded into Stoger's path, who made the assist to Raman for the 3-0.
speaking of Stoger he's suspended next match due to card accumulation, could be an XI chance for Morales.
Two things wrong with that analysis: 1) Green and Bobby had been actually playing for their low-level teams, Fredo had been a bench fixture when the call-ups happened; 2) And Morales had been benched because he had been invisible in the games he had played, to the point the commentators said it was as if Fortuna were playing with 10 --he's only looking somewhat better of late, that he got a new chance. So it's perfectly ok that he was not called before, when he was on the bench or not even making the 18. And it's also perfectly ok to give him a chance now, that he's doing somewhat better. But the guy writing that article seems to have only watched two recent games by the guy, and from that infer there's some sort of injustice in not calling him up. That's incomplete journalism.

Very nice of Sascha Stegemann to give the locals a one-man advantage from the get-go. Expect Fortuna to score a few today.

Relegation candidate Nürnberg, playing with 10 men since the 4', is beating Düsseldorf 0-1 in its own stadium. It should be noted Fredo Morales is working as their DM anchorman, distributing the ball from the CBs forward, and doing a decent job at it. First half ends 0-1. Fredo is ok so far, a bit slow when defending, but precise in his distribution. Fortuna, with a man advantage since the start, has been playing like this: ...............................LB ....................................................................Wing CB ...........................................................CM ...................Morales...........................................ST ...........................................................AM CB ....................................................................Wing ..................................RB All balls pass through him. He's slow defending to the point he already got a yellow. But distributing he's been good, he must have a near-perfect forward pass rate. Of course, Nürnberg with 10 has conceded the field.
Fredo playing closer to the Nürnberg area this second half. Already had a good chance to assist but Mühl's hand was in the way. After VAR, it was deemed accidental. The visitors have lost their best man, who assisted their goal, Kubo, to injury.
2 updates: I went with the Godfather title (nice one, @wrench ), and I deleted some national team stuff.
