Started but Ulsan lost the first leg 1-2. Not sure if he went 90. Ulsan posted a pretty nifty lineup video on their Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BrADPM1gClP/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=7gr2m6xyaozm
Per Mix's Twitter, he missed a match due to injury for the first time in his career against Daegu for the Korean FA Cup second leg. Ulsan lost 3-0 and 5-1 on aggregate. Been lucky my whole career with no injuries. The timing for my first missed match couldn’t be worse. Cup final in Korea from the stands today.— Mix Diskerud (@MixDiskerud) December 8, 2018
This thread was on page 9 next to the Subotic thread. Mix had a brace and they were both bangers. Congratulations to Mix Diskerud. His two goal effort for Ulsan Hyundai in a 5-1 win over Perak in a AFC Champions League qualifier has sent his club into the group stages of the tournament https://t.co/SiXHmC2t48— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) February 19, 2019
That dribbling was nasty on that 1st goal. Wow. Pure class. Mix seems to be enjoying his time in South Korea and sounds like he's playing well.
Ok, ok, ok, OK. ...but be bold enough to post your size, either name or c/o + address. ....and what jersey ... or would you rather go for the two last mixlids I have (https://mixlids.com/) ?
Glad to see him doing well. The more US eligible and US influenced players the US can produce, at any professional level, broadens the pool of potential coaches and players down the road. Not every kid is going to be a USMNT star or even play in MLS but the more that make it in any pro league the better. And Mix seems like a fine guy. Glad to see him able to pursue his dream.
Mix had a streak of 13 straight appearances that the USMNT won...not many in US history can or will be able to say the same..... He's a bit more accomplished than just "able to be a pro soccer player"... just b/c MLS chewed him up and spit him out - in order to launch NYCFC with their "stars" - doesn't mean he isn't still good enough for USMNT... I personally think he's better right now than a player like mihalovic....and could easily still be in the "mix" with the nats....
While we're dredging up old complains -- Mix, you still owe me Taco Bell. ...I don't care, actually. Keep scoring goals like that and hopefully we'll see you back in a USMNT jersey.
Big time win for Mix and the Ulsan crew today as they continue in the AFC Champions League group stage with a 1-0 win over Oscar, Hulk, and the rest of the $hanghai squad. Mix played all but the final three minutes of stoppage time. Had a good idea with an outside-footed shot at 1:25 of the highlights. Also looks like they let him roam a bit in the midfield. Ulsan had a 0-0 draw with Sydney FC last week to open the group. Next group stage match is against Kawasaki Frontale on April 10th, but Matchday 3 in the K-League against Daegu is on Sunday. He hasn't played in the first two league matches - probably just rest with the big continental competition. It's worth noting that despite Ulsan's big win, the K-League still had some disappointment today with Jeonbuk losing to Thai club Buriram United. Anyway, congrats Mix - keep it up !
Oh, and the lineup video for the Shanghai match is 10000000% worth checking out. Gotta love Ulsan's Instagram game. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu8VToVAL9b/
Don't know why they don't include the name of the player in the Roman alphabet in addition to Hangul: But that would be slick to put on the back of your Mix kit.
Ulsan is leading, after two games, arguably the toughest group in the AFC Champs. The other teams in their group are the Chinese 2018 champions, SIPG; the J-League '18 champs, Frontale; and the A-league 2018 champions, Sydney. By comparison, Ulsan finished third in the K-League.
Mix scored today. His team won 2-1 and are leaders of the K-League. Not that anyone cares. BTW, one of Mix's teammates has the very descriptive name "Negão" --which in Portuguese stands for "big Black man."
