    From WNTs thread:

    FOX Sports Football@FOXFOOTBALL, Jan 18
BREAKING The Matildas have parted ways with coach Alen Stajcic, with Stajcic confirming he has left his post, reports @AnnaHarrington: https://www.foxsports.com.au/footba...p/news-story/62678bdf22ced07e7bee97834d728bd3

    Kieran Theivam (Tayvam)@KiersTheivam, Jan 18
Less than five months until the World Cup and the Matildas are on the hunt for a new head coach. “Overseeing a poor culture” is suggested reason for Alen Stajcic’s departure, following an internal investigation. - (Twitter)

this report is less damaging than the earlier one that suggested physical & sexual improprieties were happening
but a few weeks back at the FC Sydney club, Lisa Devanna called out a fellow team mate, a "fat b......", while in game play. She was quietly suspended foe one game. But/so it does happen out there.
I think most of all Australian women's soccer has to compete with so many others sports as it's easily the most diverse/multi sport nation in the world. Obviously competitive or renowned in team sports like basketball, field hockey, softball, volleyball. rugby, but also in more home grown ones like netball & Australian football/
All this might take away the attention or scrutiny of whats actually going on with the elites of Matildas. So just saying; we don't know all the facts, guess final report be out next week.

The new interim coach is Ante Milicic, the "Socceroos" Australia men's team's assistant coach – his first job in women's football. He'll be coach until after the Women's World Cup, the FFA says.

The war of words with Stajcic continued this week. The FFA claimed that he had been highly critical of the team environment:

Nothing but an another with an Eastern Euro name to show how to play women's soccer? Lol

The link on the Stajic sacking is too G rated; I've read of reports suggesting bullying, body shaming & bed hopping, ran rampant among the closely knit elite players.

    In April:
    And now

Women's World Cup 2019, the Australian squad
    (Thanks @Lechus7)

But can they become world champions?

That away game is in Eindhoven on Saturday, 1 June (16:15 GMT / 2:15am AET)

Kyah Simon was on standby, but is now ruled out with a hamstring injury.

And here's a Dutch fan club in Sydney:
