I wonder what he would do to Matic? [emoji53] On this day in 2005, Roy Keane left Manchester United.Imagine him in their midfield today 😍 pic.twitter.com/zsNHS43JO5— B/R Football (@brfootball) November 18, 2018
How Matic has been reinvigorated under Ole. http://www.squawka.com/en/news/thre...ted-nemanja-matic/1081144#tAWBASBSKDyMEdxG.97 Ole has made him a viable option now and at this time, he simply is our best option in the holding role. All the same, it's important for the club to seek an alternative for him going into next season.
@Ashur No doubt we dont have any other alternative to Matic but there is a slight improvement in his game and he is looking to play forward ball.
Agree but he can pick a pass aswell (rare) its his slowness to release ball infuriates me and when he looses possesion he doesnt have pace and desire to recover ball but hopefully in summer we will sign a proper DM ala our Fernandinho
As stated, I haven't changed my opinion that we need to look for an upgrade this summer. Matic can stay and see out his contract as a squad member, a role that would suit him just fine (on top of a required one for us as well). That being said, got to give Ole and the staff credit for how they managed to make him decent at least. He has changed his game and the improvement is noticeable. And given the fact that our midfield at this time looks razor thin, I'm actually relieved he stepped it up. If he was the same Matic we saw under Mourinho, we'd be pretty much effed. Definitely hope he can keep this up until the end of the season, by which time we can look for someone to replace him long term. And also, I really want Timmy to be brought back as well and start grooming him as a possible option for us in midfield as well.
United can not let top 4 go without a fight - Matic https://www.skysports.com/football/...r-united-not-to-let-top-four-finish-slip-away
The MEN are reporting that it is looking like a genuine possibility that Nemanja Matic could be released at the end of the current season. 😳Should we let go of Matic this season? 🤔🇾🇪 #MUFC pic.twitter.com/eJdmnISbMo— Stretford Paddock FC (@SPaddockFC) August 13, 2019 His contract is coming to an end at the end of this term.. There's really no reason to look to extend him and not go in another direction in terms of the holding role.
Good. We need to get away from extending contracts just to avoid losing people for free. Sometimes, just cut the dead wood.
That's just the sort of leadership and sharing of responsibility we're looking for from one of our experienced heads, from someone who only really has experience on his side. Not being picked? Not my fault. We're not winning? Not my fault. I don't need to work on anything, I've been starting for clubs for 10 years.
Matic attitude disappointing, but given his contract is up next summer not that surprising. He can start negotiating with clubs in a few months. So; - the only specialist #6 we have at the club - we knew he was ageing - we knew he was able to start negotiating with clubs in a few months - we knew Ole wasn't planning on starting him - we should have been able to see that would not make him happy And yet we still didn't recruit a #6 in the summer ...
