If he wanted to renew he wouldn't drag it out so long. He wants to walk, we just need to be interested and convince him we are the right fit.
Agreed I’m sure he recognises that he won’t get a better chance to move to a bigger club. Just strange how there doesn’t seem to be much talk about/from him.
One aspect of Jr that has largely over looked is his defensive contribution. Granted he isn't here for that but he's doing a good job of helping to press and there have a few occasions where Benz and him have been able to get back back deep in the opponents area. This is likely due to Benzema (he's already been good at this) being well positioned and Jr's pace. I think we might see an interesting goal or two in the CL as a result. If hazard is brought in it should not interfere with the development of Jr, Jr needs to be playing.
He’s not the type of footballer that’s going to say things that ruffle the feathers of his current club, it’s just not him and never has been. From the interviews that I’ve read, he has massive respect for Spurs and it’s staff, players, etc. I don’t think he’s going to throw his toys out of the pram like we expect other players to do, but we would be stupid not to go balls-deep in on him.
You know what he looks like...…… this is a more athletic/fluid young Ricardo Kaka. I spent about 30mins trying to watch every youtube compilation and Holy shit i'm impressed. He seems like he can play most positions in attack. His finishing already looks so polished and he functions in the middle surrounded by players with ease as well as on the right flank. Can create and finish. Has trickery and dribbling. Not the fastest but Kaka wasn't either. Plays with freedom. When he gets his man's body...…….. woof. Play him on the RW initially if we don't have room up front to get adapted and then shift to CF like with Pipita. He can play with a CF too it seems. What's his release clause (if any)? Mendes is NOT his agent so that's a win already.
120M. And in an article @Saeta Rubia posted later, seems Mendes is his representation now, or at least that's how it was portrayed.
I am amazed by his talent too and plans to watch Benfica games to see him. [emoji23] I know he'd cost a lot, but hoping he ends up here rather than at a rival club.
Felix himself said Mendes is his agent recently. I think Mendes recently snapped him up just like he has done in the past in Portuguese league before the big move. I guess Mendes will take him where the best offer is coming from like usual. Barca didn't do business with him for years, but then signed Andre Gomes and Semedo. All his RM clients have left one by one but maybe him and Flo are still on talking terms. He's James' agent still. "I'm a professional and very lucky to be well advised. My father was a PE teacher, who was an athletics coach and knows our world very well. Then I have the best agent in the world in Jorge Mendes. I am attracted by the big leagues like the Spanish, English, Italian and French. All the best Portuguese players went to play in the most important foreign leagues and, of course, I would like to do it, too." http://www.espn.in/football/soccer-...cking-new-cristiano-ronaldo-joao-felix-source
It would make no sense to spend such an amount on a young right aide attacker when we jave Rodrygo coming in summer. With Rodrygo and Vinicius our future isn't any formation with a central attacking mid. Our future us wide attackers/forwards combining with a CF. Which is why I keep asking if this kid can actually play CF? Does anyone whi actually watches this league comment?
Surely he waited for the right moment to claim this though. I read Lewa has missed the highest easy chances this season in the league. Aguero is great but injury prone? I remember him being injured quite a lot in the recent years. Better than the beginning of the season in La Liga? Sure. Champions league? Not at all.
The problem is that Levy is a bastard. It was hard to negotiate with him over Bale and Modric who clearly showed discontent. Imagine the Eriksen situation! The only advantage we got is his contract situation. We also have Brahim Diaz. We don't know what he is capable of. His compilations show that he can play both on the left and the right. We know that Guardiola tried to keep him. He also were dangerous against us in the friendly we played in the summer.
You think Eriksen would be harder to get than Modric and Bale? Then I'd say leave him there, because it'd be impossible. The way I remember it, Modric was kept at the club against his will (re potential transfer to Chelsea) and then had to do something completely out of character in order to be sold to Real Madrid. Bale's situation was also insane, kept us waiting until the last minute (Bale had to train on his own I believe after he also did something out of character to get his deal). Levy is completely unreasonable (other than the Aulas of old, who was difficult to deal with but understood player wishes), I expect Eriksen to also have to rebel against his club if he really wants a transfer. To be clear: I like Eriksen a lot, 50ME or so would be the deal to make (zero chance with Levy..).
Eriksen, if i am not mistaken, is on his last year. They have no choice but to negotiate with him or risk losing him for free in January 2020.
I think Levy will negotiate for Eriksen, but asking price will be closer to 100 ME. Don't think Eriksen has any clause to automatically extend the contract by an year like Spurs did with Alderweireld.
FWIW, Balague said this last week: Balague said on 5Live: “Did you see what happened when he [Neymar] came to Barcelona and there was a paparazzi waiting there for him and saying, ‘Is it true that you want to come back to Barcelona?’ "The context of that of course is that we know through Barcelona Football Club that he’s desperate to go back, even though Barcelona haven’t got the money to bring him back. “On the back of that he was asked and he said something like, ‘Please don’t upset me’ but not with those words, much stronger words. He does dream of coming back. “Meanwhile, as we’ve been saying all along, his family, or his dad, is trying to make sure that Real Madrid have all the information over the possibility of leaving PSG. “But right now, it seems like he’s going to stay. “He can’t cost less than €300m? Right now, Real Madrid are putting that aside to see if he’s available. “Otherwise that money will go to Hazard and Eriksen. That’s the plan so far.”
Bild says RM made 45 M offer for Jovic and there could be transfer war for him between RM and Barca. En Alemania desvelan una oferta del Madrid por Jovic para adelantarse al Barça https://t.co/w11QqQG4i1 pic.twitter.com/9iqPJjOTbS— El Bernabéu (@elbernabeucom) February 12, 2019
I hope the rumors of us trying to recruit Luka Jovic and João Felix are true. A future attack of Vinicius - Jovic - Felix would be awesome.
We don't need both. We have Rodrygo so Vinicius-Felix-Rodrygo would be cool in few years. It's good to drive up Jovic price if Barca are really keen. [emoji23]

Much depends on the rest of the season i'd say. If Barca chokes and we win the league, we will be hearing how we have the best squad in the world.(and there might be some truth to it tbf)
You are definitely correct. Levy will have to negotiate, but if he's going to be as unreasonable as always, then it's going to take a lot of patience from the club's perspective. I expect Perez will only want to go all-in (like he did with Bale) if he really, really wants the player. I however don't think - or at least, that's my impression - he's a top priority for Perez. We'll see, would love to have him on the squad!
The Brazil international has been regularly linked with a move to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus and told Brazilian outlet Esporte Interativo that he would reluctantly accept an exit if that is what the Bernabeu hierarchy wanted. "If I am on the list of players [Madrid] want to sell, then they can pay me up and all is sorted," Marcelo said. "I trust in myself, in my work, but if a day comes when Real Madrid do not want me, I'll go. I will be sad, but I'll go. But I am sure I will not be kicked out." "I have seen mock-ups [of me] with the Juventus jersey, and they are a spectacular team," he said. "But I am at Real Madrid, I have a contract here." "The level I have been showing is difficult to always maintain," he said. "I am a little below that level at the moment, but my career has been like that, some little dips, and unfortunately this season I had three injuries in two months. I went through a difficult period in my football and within the club. "But that phase is over now, I need to play to get back to my usual form and confidence. But I feel good now, physically good, I am training strongly. I need to play to get back my confidence, but physically I am good." http://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-t...arcelo?platform=amp&__twitter_impression=true
