I’ll have 21 points to make up in the second leg vs Soccer Steve. But stranger things have happened:alien:

Sandy Cup: Quarterfinals, leg 1 scores:

Bigger Boat 58 vs Potomac No Rudder 32
Chicken TikkaMoSalah 34 vs LoweMoDijk 32
Soccer Steve 53 vs Stormin Gunners 32
WhataBunchofMuppets 62 vs Keysersoze Wanderers 66

Tight contests for Chicken TikkaMoSalah vs LoweMoDijk with only 2 points of daylight and for WhataBunchofMuppets trailing by 4 to Keysersoze Wanders. Soccer Steve has 21 points on Stormin Gunners. No surprise that Potomac No Rudder has the longest shot in the second leg being 26 points arrears.

By the way, this is the trophy:

Making some lineup changes for the second leg. Hoping Martial plays this weekend and brought Redmond in since he has been on good form lately. And trying to find a way to get Ian Wright and Thierry Henry out of retirement to join Arsenal for a few weeks, need more goals :ROFLMAO:

Congrats Soccer Steve. I put up more points than you in the second leg but not enough to win the round. I’ll be posting the quarterfinal results later today. Currently driving home from Virginia to Philly with a grumpy, yelling three year old so will post once I get home and get my sanity backo_O

So I was able to get home with sanity intact and here are the results of the quarterfinals:

Bigger Boat: 58+41=99 Advance to Semis
Chicken Tikka: 34+30=64 Advance to Semis
Soccer Steve: 53+31=84 Advance to Semis
    Muppets: 62+73=135 Advance to Semis
    Keyersoze: 66+38=104 Lost to Muppets
Stormin: 32+37=69 Lost to Soccer Steve
LoweMoDijk: 32+21=53 Lost to Ch. Tikka
Potomac: 32+28=60 Lost to Bigger Boat

For the first time in the Sandy Cup (this is the third year) all of the higher seeds advanced. If there looks to be a favorite going into the semifinal round, which starts on New Year’s Day, it would have to be What A Bunch of Muppets who scored 135 points in the quarterfinals. Good luck to all who have advanced to the semifinals round:

Bigger Boat (1) vs. Muppets (4)
Chicken Tikka (2) vs. Soccer Steve (3)

My team is off to a flying start today. Of course it had to be the week after the Sandy Cup quarters, oh well. Should be interesting in the semis starting today. Happy new year to all:thumbsup:

Christian Pulisic signed with Chelsea today for 73 million! Wish it was Arsenal but great to see one of our best young players making a big move and he will probably be a starter for Chelsea next season. Let’s go yanks!

Sandy Cup Semis first leg results:

Bigger Boat put up 56 points vs Muppets 29 points to move close to a place in the final. But Muppets is known to have big weeks so don’t count them out to come back in the second leg. In the other semis matchup, it’s looking like it’s going to be a photo finish to the final with Chicken Tikka’s 57 points vs Soccer Steve’s 63 points. The second leg is coming up this Saturday and ending on Monday, so we’ll know the finals matchup by Monday afternoon. Good luck to the final four:thumbsup:

Correction. The SC second leg starts next Saturday instead of tomorrow. Forgot about the FA Cup fixtures this weekend conflicting with the Sandy Cup. They need to prioritize next time and wait until the Sandy Cup tournament is finished:ROFLMAO:

The Sandy Cup Final is set with the current top two teams in the Sand Table, Bigger Boat and Soccer Steve, preparing to battle it out for the title. Here are the results from the semis:

Bigger Boat (56+37=93) vs Muppets (29+30=59), Bigger Boat advances
Chicken Tikka (57+36=93) vs Soccer Steve (63+35=98), Soccer Steve advances

Should be a great final, good luck to the last two standing:thumbsup:

    Hi all

I just moved back to lovely Cairns about Oct last year .... been crazy busy setting up an office, sacking shit staff, trying to buy a house and failing.... trying to buy another one and succeeding (settlement is 2 days !) ... so life will be back to " normal " soon I hope

Great to see I made the Sandy Cup Final. I have been regularly checking my team, but always last minute as usual and do not a chance to post on here. Will have to rectify that as this has been a lot of fun this year. SO MUCH less stressful than checking a google doc etc ! Love it :inlove:

Soccer Steve look out in the Final ;)

By Sunday afternoon the SC winner will be decided. Even matchup, no favorite for the final. Probably a close finish too and a wild 2-day battle this weekend. GAME ON :geek::eek::D:barefoot::laugh::thumbsup: (these emojis will describe the SC Final emotions)

Bigger Boat has a slight lead over Soccer Steve after today’s matches, currently 30-24. Two games on tap for tomorrow which will decide the champion, could be a photo finish. Good luck:thumbsup:

Soccer Steve made a big comeback today to take the Sandy Cup title! Sane and Sterling made the difference for him today with a combined 20+ points between them. I’ll post the final scores once the bonus points are applied by the site, but it’s confirmed that Soccer Steve is the Sandy Cup Champion! Great performance by runner-up Bigger Boat to make it an exciting finish. Thanks to both for a great final:thumbsup:

Thanks for the shout out! Stoked to win some silverware in my inaugural season in the Sand League, especially after watching my Saints lose today. Good game Bigger Boat, and thanks to everyone for being welcoming to us new guys

Great win for the SC title Steve and the Saints should be in the Super Bowl if that ref hadn’t blown that call. At least your team made it far into the playoffs, I follow the Steelers and they need to get back on track next season.

Hoping for another Aguero hat trick today. Wasn’t wild about his last triple vs Arsenal last week but I’m totally cool with 3 (or 4) today vs Everton. Need to keep moving up the Sand table, onward and upward:thumbsup:

Had Deulofeu on my team for over a month and he did nothing. Then I dropped him and he scored a hat trick the following week. Then I picked him up again for this week and he did nothing. What’s up with this guy?
