I think both U16 and U17 tournaments this month it's hard to judge anything when too many players are missing. It goes to other countries too. Not only is Germany missing players but we are playing guys who shouldn't even be playing if everyone was available. And even in the squad taken, a lot of rotation, no consistency whatsoever. most coaches seem to use these tournaments to play as much players as possible. qualifying for U17 Euro is easy. The hard one has always been U19, as only top of the group qualifies.
Do u guys think Johannes Eggestein is really playing at right wing? I know on paper he’s a right winger... But rewatching the match... the front three interchanges a lot Kruse drops back often for build-up too. Jojo Eggestein as a right inside forward also swap positions with the front 3 frequently. Jojo Eggestein doesn’t require to attack the flank, and cross from deep.... His role is actually attacking the half spaces and get into the box. It isn’t a bad thing although can’t say playing as a right inside forward is his best position. But Kruse will be there in Bremen for another year or two, he’s still a decent footballer. ..... But at least he can still play regularly and he isn’t asked to play as a real “winger”, but more like a free-roaming supporting striker
well he's not a winger to begin with, isn't fast enough to really play wing. But whatever what matters is that he's getting playing time, performing and being forced to take on defenders which should help polish/improve his game. Should still work on his physicality though. It's great to see him doing well, he's not far off from being top scorer on the Bremen team too. -Sidney Friede scores his 2nd goal in 4 games in Belgium, his goal was the winner in a 2-1 win. #GNTMOU (0-2, 51') L'Excel fait le breaaaaaaak !!! Sur un centre de #Gulan, #Friede est là pour pousser le ballon au fond des filets !COME ON EXCEL 🔴⚪️ pic.twitter.com/ukE7KuD9IY— Royal Excel Mouscron (@ExcelMouscron) February 10, 2019 -looks like Y.Otto even in his limited game time is already struggling EB's 2nd top scorer. It's interesting since he's mostly a bench player and EB were considering loaning him out during Winter transfer.
If u look at Jojo’s game in Werder Bremen now, he isn’t really a winger. But more like a supporting striker who attacks the half spaces He doesn’t provide width at all, n the fullbacks do that. So even he is out slightly wide, he isn’t playing like a right winger. So it’s not a bad thing for him If Kohfeldt is using him as a wide winger who needs to cross from deep n stick on the flank, I’ll be worried. But that’s not what I saw The front three interchanges n rotates a lot too Jojo needs another year or two, to gain as many muscles for him to play up top. Maybe he’s 6-8kg away, n throughout the season players generally lose weight too. So it’s a long process
he also needs to renew his expiring Summer 2019 contract too. Shouldn't leave Bremen where he's developing.
Often Werder has Kruse dropping back more now rotating as sort of a CAM, while J.Eggestein and Rashica/Harnik act as roaming interchanging forwards. Jojo's positioning and finishing efficiency is showing gradual improvements as the season progresses along. I read comment somewhere online that he's being compared as possibly Germany's version of Jovic. Just needs to steadily mature and work on building up his physique.

of course Germany's u16 b/c team who led the group and only needed a win to be champions end up losing 2-1 to Portugal, it's 1st loss in mini-tournament too. German goal scored by Gunther. Still rotations too which is expected. Well it's good experience for the kids.
yeah seems like that missed PK was the turning point as it let Portugal score 1st. Portugal also won the game in last minute of play too. wasn't there a recent trend about how Germany fails to close off games for youth teams.

FORM CRISIS OF THE HERTHA DEFENDER Plattenhardt no more first choice Hertha's World Cup participant is only a substitute. After last miserable performances found ex-national player Marvin Plattenhardt (26) in Gladbach at 3-0 on the bench again. U21 national player Jordan Torunarigha (21) played for Platte back left, switched off with Maximilian Mittelstädt (21) Gladbach star Thorgan Hazard (25) But there was praise from Dardai: "Jordan has edited Hazard great." Plate must now probably back up. Dardai: "I said that we are rotating in some positions. This time it got a record. "Against Bremen there is no reason to change that. https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...ardt-nicht-mehr-erste-wahl-60082680.bild.html and the kids kept Hazard in check. Once again Torunarigha when fully fit (had 2 fitness issues this season) is a good player. If he can stay fit, senior NT isn't out of the question. while pretty awkward that Germany Senior NT called up Plattenhardt to begin with, was never high on the guy and the following season seems on course to lose his place.
Premier League Cup -Jenz played full game as Fulham U23 in a 5-0 win -Kyeremateng scored a double in a 4-1 win for Stoke U23 Dutch 2nd division Arweiler had 2 assists in a 4-2 loss 2BL -Burnic on loan played full game for Dynamo in a 1-0 loss to 2BL leaders HSV (lol once again a barely win). HSV's win was due to Schubert's blunder too. Atilgan gor 4 min, while Arp played 6 min and Vagnoman got 30 min of playing time. A bit more and that tap in goal could have fallen to Arp. Burnic made his 2BL debut today as he's already played 7 1BL games, so not pro debut. Still good to see more midfield options for next U21 cycle. Next cycle the issues really seem to be CB-RB and Wingers when it comes to real playing time in 1BL-2BL.
so random, Sabiri was linked last week with a loan move to Polish League. https://www.90min.com/posts/6289908...-side-for-fringe-midfielder-abdelhamid-sabiri Sabiri is a frustrating player tbh. Was doing really well in 2BL then moves to EPL, where when given the chance he seems to have made + impression. And when he played for Germany U21, he did really well. but........his career seems to have went nowhere. Turns 23 this year and isn't even a regular anywhere, has yet to establish himself. And with the way things are going he won't make it to a relevant 1st division league for awhile. If he stays at Huddersfield, they are headed for relegation to Championship and if he goes back to Germany he's likely going to a 2BL club unless some low end 1BL club goes after him for some reason. best thing for his career, is being picked for Germany U21 in Summer and performing there and attracting interest from somewhere. Otherwise he's likely headed for lower levels for awhile.
I guess he's linked with a Polish side because that is one of the few nations that still have an open transfer window. Austria stayed open later than most of Europe too but not sure if it they just closed.
believe Austria closed a few days ago. Still open are Swiss (mid-Feb), Polish (end of Feb) and the CroatiaHungary/Czech leagues.
01-Glatzel recently made his EPL 2 debut for Liverpool U23 playing full 90 in a 1-1 draw with Man City. On Glatzel's debut… Some players have obviously left the club, some on loan and some of the lads were with the first team. Around this stage of the season you find that the boys who are performing well at U18 level will get their chance to step up and perform, and Paul is one of them. Abdi Sharif is the same, Yasser Larouci, and the boys we had on the bench as well. We finished with a very young team and I suspect that will probably be the case for the rest of the season. Paul had to do a lot of work without the ball and do a lot of defending, which for a boy who is a goalscorer and always wants the ball, I thought he did it very diligently and was intelligent as well. He didn’t get frustrated. He is intelligent and was unlucky not to score. I thought his all-round contribution to a good performance was very good. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/ac...liates&utm_medium=webgains&utm_campaign=54264

Algarve Cup. We lost all three games Defence is terrible and even it’s not our best team, I would expect a draw or two This is embarrassing
