2 goals/5 assists in 23 matches. Only 7 were sub matches.

My mom would say I’m shorter. She honestly doesn’t know how tall I am even though I haven’t grown in like 20 years

If he does something like that against Man City, he'll put the world on notice

There is one thing at which he is already 100% no joking world class. He defends corner kicks incredibly well.

Anyone spend time on the German message boards? What are Schalke fans saying?

McK really seems to up his game against the best teams. Really excited for his USMNT career. Having him in some of those swampy cauldrons will be a huge benefit.

For whatever value people place in Kicker ratings, McKennie got a 3, tied for Schalke's best with Kutucu. Hummels and Thiago also scored 3.

Of course that score is worse than Ulreich, Alaba, Gnabry and Coman at 2.5, and James and Lewandowski with 2.

Hard for me to take it too seriously given how well he played that they consider 8 of BM's starters to have equaled or bettered his performance.

They did lose 3-1. Not too many guys are going to get 2s or even 2.5s on the team that loses 3-1.

Watching the all-touch video, he had his ups and downs. Can’t say he was “putrid” or “awesome” but clearly he belongs at this elite level.

Given a little more experience, I’m hoping the game slows down for him and then that will be something to watch.

My favorite thing about McKennie right now is that he's the type of player that even when he has a bad day is bringing value to the team. He's rarely going to be the reason why your team loses. If he gets better and can still keep doing that watch out (basically elevate his game while keeping his consistency).

weston is good now. he can be great if he cleans up a few things. first, he needs to pay attention and focus on certain easy passes that he misses on now. he misses on 2 or 3 of those a game. he needs to make one or 2 more runs like the Bayern one. now he often checks the ball back to the center back who hoofs it up and schalke loses possession. he needs to be bolder there. on defense, as a great as.an athlete as he is, he lacks lateral movement and is not a good 1v1 defender. not sure how to improve that. if he does, we have our own vidal

I’ve been trying to articulate that weakness he has moving laterally. The more I see him play the more I think he might settle a little bit further upfield positionally if he can do some playmaking.

him and tyler are a good complement because he has a range of passing that tyler doesn't. and tyler has the lateral movement he does not

The 3 kicker rating seemed about right to me. I also think the game result (loss for Schalke) factors into the ratings for the players. The Kicker ratings are an enigma.

Yup and both have incredible work rates. I think I’d give Adams the edge though given how much space he covers and slightly better speed.

Could make sense if we had Adams as the 6, and McKennie as the 8.

They (Alaba/Coman/James) bettered him over that Schalke right side which was McKennie's in the dub 6 they were playing. They had too much space to play in. (see heat maps). Off the ball play doesn't show up so much in ratings.

Has Wes been given a nickname by the BL media or the fans?
