Hey LV, I love this article and really appreciate the fact that you posted a link to it here. I'm going to trim back the quoted material though, since our site policy is not to quote large portions of articles hosted on other sites so people will go there to read them. It helps support the kind of work that brought us this Sanho interview.
Yeah, the trick seems to be that CP really isn't a winger. He is best in the middle. With Reus injured, maybe Guerreiro keeps the wing and Puli gets the middle? I would never post this on the BVB site, since I don't think Favre would consider it. Some combination of Philipp, Gotze, and Alcacer goes in the middle and CP on the wing in that world, but it does seem like that isn't his best position.
This is the perfect chance to put CP in the middle, but we all knows Gotze is going to start there with either Paco or Phillip as the forward. And we already seen too many times, that Gotze is just too slow to drive the attack. The speed of the game had already pass him, sadly. I just don't see a lot of courage or ideas in a coach like Favre.
Looks like quite a good amount of respect for each others. Would love to see these guys link up again in the EPL. Imagined a Chelsea front four in 2-3 years, with Odoi and Sancho on the wings and Pulisic in the middle. Klopp might enjoy seeing that.
Their ratings are really slow to adjust. Even after last season, they still have Toronto as 7th in MLS.
Before Pulisic leaves Dortmund this summer, I would really love to see a few games with this line up. ------------------Reus------------------- -----Guererro-------Pulisic-----Sancho
Last season's results and the transfer fees of the roster are involved in the calculation. I guess there is some truth to it, everyone knows that Bayern have huge talent and so could easily take over if BVB stumbles even a little. Just looking at the head-to-heads and record for the season you wouldn't see that, so you do have to take other things into account. And Bayern are on an upswing, so it is reasonable to expect they aren't losing too many more. I think BVB will win, but anyone who thinks Bayern's chances aren't at least 33% is over-confident, imho, but on the other hand we know that BVB's roster is worth more than it cost with Sancho and Witsel very under-priced. If they were willing to correct for that, I think they'd give something >50% for BVB.
Bayern is just bored of always winning it. The Bundesliga was becoming the butt of many jokes, so this season they've let go off the gas a bit. It makes no difference to win the league N+1 times or N times once N grows large enough.
If CP does get a start this weekend he needs to light it up. Too many games with him starting that they lose or just play below their potential as a team. I know it isn't his fault, but it just sucks to have the games you start (which is seldom) be the team crap games. Maybe it is just me, but I looked up some things on Kicker. Last league game he got a Kicker rating (minimum 30 minutes playing time) was against Düsseldorf on gameday 16, bottom of the league, and Dortmund lost. His previous >30 minute game was gameday 6! He's had only one league goal all season, which was at least an important one against Hoffenheim 1:1 draw (he seems to have it out for Hoffenheim). Puli has 1 goal and 2 assists in league play. In the German Cup, he started Cup game against Bremen and Dortmund lost. However, prior to that he started in the Berlin Cup game 31Oct and they played to a win in overtime, but at least Puli had 1 goal and two assists (one an earned penalty). One could argue that Dortmund should not have struggled against a 2nd league team. Puli had 2 goals and 2 assists in the German cup. In the Champions League I seem to dwell on that Atletico away loss where Dortmund really looked like crap. Sancho also started that game. But, after that, Dortmund tied and won with Puli playing the full 90 in both of those. So, time for me to stop dwelling on that crappy Atletico game. Puli has 1 goal in the CL. Anyway... I hope he can get some good moments and meaningful contributions from here on out for Dortmund as he will likely get more chances due to a packed schedule and injuries. On the subject of Kicker ratings: I'm gonna call that Brandt gets an unachievable but deserved 1 today (it is now the 65th minute of the Leverkusen game and he is absolutely crushing it). I would love to see Pulisic shred the opposition like this guy is right now.
Bayern's strategy is clearly to rest their players this season in general, so they can really all be better next year. That's how the pros do it!
We want a goal and an assist tomorrow Christian My mom's birthday is in a week. Do her a solid please.
What wait you have been telling us for years you make them value added by teaching them the forgotten and mysterious art of defending. And now, after all this time your telling me it is just inflation?
