The Irish and the Scots have given us whiskey. This leaves me with three jokes sort of. The first part you have to remember that the UK used to control Hong Kong. Why do they say that 'the sun never sets on the British Empire'? Because, even God doesn't trust England in the Dark. Why did God allow the Irish to invent whiskey? He didn't want them to rule the world. I overheard a Scotsman say.... "England Forever.... Scotland a weee bit longer".
No lineup announcement yet but the scuttlebutt on their forums seems to be he's a lock to start. Weah starts. Not sure what the formation is. Game kicks off in about an hour.
Timo starts! 📋 Team news is in, Celts! Here's how the Bhoys line up for #CELHIB! 🍀⚪️ pic.twitter.com/w1Y6c9zjXw— Celtic Football Club (@CelticFC) February 6, 2019
What a coincidence! I'm pretty sure there's some stuff with the Vikings, the Saxons, the Danelaw, and the Normans too. My 100% Norwegian grandmother is (says 23 And Me) apparently a mishmash of English, Irish, Scottish, and Norwegian DNA. She's upset, but I take that to mean that my ancestors would've been some of the best-looking captives, valuable enough to bring back home!
Just to be clear, the Irish gave us whiskey, but the Scots gave us whisky. There’s a (quite tasty) difference.
Let’s see how he does on the wing. Need Burke and Weah on at the same time. If only there was a way to watch. At least McKennie will be on at the same time.
Great hockey assist by Timo, as he slides Toljan in behind, who hits some white dude (Christie) running into the box. Tidy finish.
Weah's first touch is spot on in tight areas. Game is wide open. Fun watch. Weah is dominating with the BVB loan Toljan down the right side. Deserved goal from Celtic and it's 2-0 now with about a half hour left.
Celtic dominated, they're cruising to the title. Weah had some nice moments, got some thuggish whacks for anyone who wants to question his softness vis-a-vis Scottish Premiership
Lol, had Toljan with Scott Brown in the after game interview. Talking heads only slightly condescending towards Toljan's English. "Good English!" from the interviewer as they left. "Toljan with his best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression it seems" as they went back pitch-side
Of all people, Scotts should be the last ones on the planet to criticize someone else's English. (And I say this as a proud Scottish-American.)
the seem a bit obsessed with it on their forum. making fun of the commentator's accents constantly and also Timo's in his interviews. You're ********ing Scottish! Irony alert. To be fair, all of it seems good-natured teasing. thank god Timo got off without a broken ankle. Celtic play a fun style that is a class above the rest of their league it appears and other clubs seem to get quite feisty when they are down late. I can't wait to see him in the Valencia game against better competition and Celtic in general, see if they can pass it around the park against much better defenders.
Breaking News: Celtic still topping the Scottish Premier. In other breaking news, obesity linked to lack of exercise & driving while baked linked to increase in car accidents.
To be fair, there was that interview with Weah's teammate who complimented his "great American accent". Accents are funny. Cuts both ways.
I want Weah to get a title with Celtic and be a key figure in that, but I still wanna see Gerrard succeed at Rangers. As a lifelong Liverpool fan I might have to put club before country
Or some good seafaring Scot(t)i. (The Angles could have come up from Denmark, well before they headed west... I dunno how precise 23 is and whether they'd be able to tell between England Angles and Anglia Angles. My wife keeps getting updates and 85% of it stays the same, but lots of the small % markers seems pretty imprecise.) But English, Irish and Scottish monks/missionaries went to Norway over a few centuries too. Maybe you're from a line of mad and randy monks! Don't Celtic/Weah play again soon so we can stop this frivolity?
