They've been kind of handing us duds for a few years. I hope the new primary is excellent because I haven't bought for a few years. Everything is blah anymore. I'm going on Tuesday to the kit unveiling at the Nelson though. Cross fingers it's worth my time.
hah! polar opposite here. the collars have been one of the few redeeming qualities on some of the jerseys this club puts out.
This has been my favorite jersey over the years....but alas, my wife left it in the dryer too long and ruined all the appliques. https://goo.gl/images/npZ3cs
I agree with this. Love that shirt. It is one of the three I own along with the first primary (light blue) after the re-brand and the long-sleeve black Ivy from when it first came out. I'm due for a new shirt, but the last few just haven't tugged enough at my heart for my heart to pull out my wallet.
Both the black and white argyle were favorites and I own the white one. I’m waiting for another that is unique and captures the character of the club. So far none have done that.
Big jersey reveal is tonight (yawn). Several realistic looking leaks posted on Reddit indicate the "glitch" pattern, which is the same as the NYRB grey. I'm hoping this is misdirection and not the real deal. A blue version of a pre-stained looking jersey is not appealing to me.
It's not exactly like the Red Bulls, the picture I'd seen of the jersey was from further away and couldn't make out the full details, but there will be some glitch type styling to part of it. Personally I'm waiting to see it in person for my final opinion, but I wasn't really moved by the picture I saw.
Sharing a pattern is kind of lame, unless they do something really clever with it. Their recent track record has been pretty underwhelming, though. I'll be there tonight, but I'm pretty unlikely to buy one. Also can't decide whose name goes on the back yet.
Maybe I'm too far north of the target demographic, but I don't get the "glitch" styling. The NYRB jersey looks like you spilled a bunch of nacho sauce on your shirt and couldn't get it all out in the wash. It usually takes me at least a few years of jersey ownership for my shirt to look like that. I hope you have better luck with the jersey name than I have recently. SKC shipped off Arnaud, Feilhaber and Collin the year after I bought the jersey with their name.
Ah, see, I don't mind if they leave. I know soccer is a pretty transient sport as far as important players staying, so if it's someone really impressive but is gone the next season, it's a fun shirt to continue wearing to say "I was there when he was playing for us." I am very happy with my Feilhaber and Collin jerseys, though I didn't buy the Collin jersey. So picking Salloi and then having him transfer to Europe or whatever after this year is all well and good. Picking Nemeth and having him flop real hard here in his second stint would not be okay, haha.

At first blush, it looks like I going to have to wait another couple of years for a new jersey. At least they got rid of the collar. But I’ll wait to see it in person to make a final decision.
Better than I was afraid it might be. Might end up with one? I dunno. It's been four years since my last jersey purchase, and my rule is no more than one new one every other season. So I'm well due. Hoping they look good in person, and I hope they make good kit choices regarding shorts and socks this time.
Based on the photos, I think my wallet will stay in my pocket - again. Mark me as another that first thought they were tire marks when I saw Roger's picture.
I have no particularly strong feelings on the Jersey. It's okay. But the keeper kit is hideous. I know it's kind of an oxymoron, but it looks like neon pastel camo to me.
To add: the biggest dissapointment is that our first few jerseys after the rebrand really felt like we were trying to make an identity... I absolutely loved the state line concept. It affected only a tiny portion of the Jerseys overall design, but it felt so personal. our last few iterations feel more like whatever Adidas current template has given us we took. And that doesn't always mean it's bad, just impersonal/generic
Agreed. I wonder if there is a better way to make our voice heard? Not buying jerseys like this doesn't really convey the message that we don't like them but we will buy ones we do... Are there ever fan forums on these things? They've been dropping acceptable duds the last few years, but nothing better. All that said, it's still time to buy a new one and these don't suck. Haha.
