What if I put the goalkeeper's kit on one of my outfield players until the 19th round upon which I take one by trade and they switch outfits? Akin to Bob Bradley with the Metrostars when he gamed the system to get a 4th sub.

Can we unretire players to draft? Cause Mike McGee would make a perfect back up GK and ST.

I believe Adam has 8 hours each to make his two picks, not 8 hours total. He's currently on the clock for his 2nd pick after missing the 1st one. The player I'm looking to take next is, in my opinion, a pretty decent pick he might want with one of his two picks, so I think I'll hold off until the 16 hour limit is reached. Not that it's a big deal either way since it's near the end of the draft.

@TheFalseNine can decide on that, but IMO, we need to say it’s 8 hours and then the next person.

Plus I think we had mentioned cutting people’s windows if they go over. Which, I want to say it’s been twice. So, he should be down to 4 hours anyways. Same with @Matthew Hartman. So, by the rules, his time is up anyways.

We don’t need to drag these last 2 rounds out to where everyone loses interest.

I’d say let’s keep the thing moving; objections?

I'm not opposed to that either, especially at this juncture in the draft. I haven't been keeping track of the time-cutting penalties but yeah, if you're right then his time would be up anyway.

That was the rule in the previous edition. Sped things up toward the end. Let's get to the finish line so we have proper teams to evaluate guys. And I don't think the punishment is that bad at this point because personal preferences are going to vary a lot and the pool widens. So yes, I'm for that.

Now, the goalkeeper rules I'm opposed to. When you put together a club team of 23 players, or partake in a draft, nobody tells you a specific position needs to be filled by a certain point. The need necessitates it eventually. The risk of waiting too long is you can be left out of quality keepers or enough depth, and you can get punished for it on the field accordingly. Same thing can happen here if you only take 2 keepers or wait until the last 2 rounds. What's going to end up happening is there are going to be a rush of keepers in the 18th round and don't want to be at the end of the round. Or you can pull the trigger in the 17th, then wait thru as many as 23 picks and hope the outfield player you wanted is still around. It should be whenever you want to take them, at the very least, imo.

I was going to take Marcinkowski. He's an all-around keeper, got off to a good start to his MLS career when afforded opportunities, and was better than Klinsmann in college.

In lieu of that option, shored up my fullback rotation instead with Farfan, who generated a lot of excitement a year or two ago, but as is often the case with some of these MLS clubs through no fault of the domestic players they decide to look at higher-priced alternatives. Hopefully the recent homegrown rules allowing clubs to keep the entire transfer fee changes the equation. That would help me with Roberts as well. Seeing a little more these guys getting PT or sold early.

Farfan is a good pick. He somehow didn't register in my mind or the shortlist of players I listed -- part of the game is getting players who others aren't thinking of. I'm currently starting Aaron Herrera or perhaps Zyen Jones or Matthew Olosunde at LB. Or maybe Lima to LB and someone else at RB. And Farfan surely counts because while he has indicated Mexico interest in the past, that's natural for any dual-national, same with Brendan Hines-Ike with Ireland and others already taken. Farfan has represented the US at youth level and would accept a US senior callup if offered.

Is it cool to pick Victor Ulloa? Dual national Mexican-American but has never been capped by either nation.

Do I seriously have to wait another hour just for Matt to be skipped again to make my pick?

Wooten is banging in goals for fun now at SV Sandhausen; so even if we didn’t start Jordy Siebatcheu, who is still an eligible player, by the way, and should count towards the draft for that reason.

    Zardes——-Wooten/Jordy——Wood
    ——————Mihailovic——————
    ———-Trapp————-Delgado——-
    Morrow——————————-Chandler
    ———Alvarado———-Trusty————
    ———————Robles———————

    Bench:
    GK
    Nerwinski
    Orozco
    Larentowicz
    Rowe
    Shipp
    Wooten/Siebatcheu

    Or;
    Rowe———-Zardes———Wood
    —————-Mihailovic————-
    ———-Trapp———-Delgado—-
    Morrow—————————Chandler
    ————Trusty——Alvarado——
    ———————Robles————-

    Bench:
    GK
    Nerwinski
    Orozco
    Larentowicz
    Shipp
    Wooten
    Siebatcheu

    Or still;
    ————Zardes—Wood————
    —————Mihailovic—————-
    ——-Rowe—————Delgado—-
    ——————-Trapp——————
    Morrow—————————-Chandler
    ————Alvarado—Trusty————

    Bench:
    GK
    Nerwinski
    Orozco
    Larentowicz
    Shipp
    Wooten
    Siebatcheu

    We could even...
    Zardes——Wooten/Jordy——Wood
    ——————Mihailovic——————
    ——Rowe——Trapp——Delgado——
    ——Morrow—Alvarado—Trusty———
    ———————Robles———————

Not sure if you're looking for feedback, but I really think you need Rowe in your XI. Otherwise you're not going to create anything, with all due respect to Mihailovic.

Nick Besler could be a sneaky good pick. Versatile, not old, could quite possibly start at CB if Glad's stock continues to fall (to my displeasure, as I selected Glad).

It's only a few rounds. Let's finish strong so we can compare 12 squads that are competitive and were comprised under the same circumstances.

There are still several solid and proven professional players left I think there were a lot of reaches on kids that likely won’t even reach their first teams by the time we vote. If we were picking for the 2022 World Cup some of those picks could be excellent but for just the season in front of us I’m not so sure.
