They're not Huddersfield bad --Hudders will have trouble surviving the Championship-- but they're pretty miserable alright. On the other hand, some teams have a history of finishing the season better than they start, while others all the contrary.

Due to that, I can see Brighton and Crystal Palace giving Fulham a chance. As for Cardiff, they're goners IMO.

Id agree with that assessment. Its a paradox of looking much better than they do on the table. Theyve got some fight left in them obviously. They sent Kamara into exile in Turkey too to tie off that loose end, and are making some quick deadline moves that could keep them up. Theyve got the right coach now and a good history of survival fights they end up winning.

200 over like 8 years. Fulham are getting relegated. I just hope they can reward the fans with some worthy matches before the drop.

Should know soon if a well-rested Ream is back in the starting lineup today at Crystal Palace.

He started and was subbed off at halftime. Palace's first half goal came from a penalty caused by a Christie handball.

It's 2-0 to Palace, late in the second half.

Losing to Palace is very bad news. Guess next season it's gonna be Yedders & Puli for us.

This one ends 3-0 to Man United.

I don't believe Ream was at fault on any of the goals. (His CB partner, Le Marchand, had a role in all of them however.)

    Ream acquitted himself well.

Weird game...the first two goals were against the run of play, and then Fulham sank.

3 months left. Hope he can score a PL goal to highlight 1 positive moment for his season.

Frankly, I don’t rate him at all. So I just hope he starts vs. Liverpool and that goal doesn’t come then.

Time to change the title to "The Reaming Continues."

    17/-33 is bad. Very bad.

Not necessarily to single the two of you out, as you have plenty of company, but I think your low opinion of Ream has been sufficiently expressed.

Individual quality is relative, and soccer is a team game, defending is a team effort, etc, so a coach has to look at his full roster and make choices based on the players available. Ranieri obviously has limited choices at this point.

But here's the curious thing. Two games in a row, Ream was subbed out of the game before/at halftime - once very successfully (0-2 against became 4-2 in favor, v Brighton) and once much less so (1-0 became 2-0, @ Crystal Palace).

Yet there was Ream starting the very next game (v Manchester United). So, whatever the reasoning in subbing Ream out early in two straight games, it did not prevent the coach from putting him right back into the starting lineup.

With 12 games to go, and a very uphill fight ahead, you guys are obviously free to watch for confirmation of your low opinion of Ream's quality.

I'll be watching the results from a different point of view, rooting for Ream and Fulham to succeed.

In one of the post-game interviews for those matches, Ranieri explained that he subbed out Ream because they were getting overrun in the midfield and no longer needed 5 in the back since they were already down. So he needed to sub out a defender for a midfielder.

Ream wasn't responsible for any of the goals against in those games (I think Le Marchand got beaten on both of the goals against Brighton, with an Odoi flubbed clearance also contributing to one of those goals), so I suspect that Ream was the first to go when they needed an extra midfielder because Ranieri doesn't think Ream works as well as Odoi or Le Marchand in a more traditional 4 man backline.

All cool here. I want Fulham to stay up, too, as I think the PL is better with Fulham in it.

And I would love for Ream to be awesome, so I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said. I just don’t believe either Fulham staying up or him playing way over what we’ve seen previously is very likely.

That said, the back to back early hooks are surely worth a few snide comments (which I don’t think mine was) when the guy is obviously no longer a prospect, but a known, fully developed player.

"My same here" comment was essentially agreeing that I hope he doesn't play well against Liverpool as I'm a Liverpool fan.

Ream is decent, but not PL quality. But then again, not many at Fulham are. No harsh disrespect to Ream though.

I'm a fair man. I cannot root for a putrid team to succeed.

If they deserve relegation, by golly I hope they get relegated.

If you aspire to fairness, then be fair. If Fulham deserve to be relegated, they will be - unless three other teams are more deserving.

Half of the posters here are rooting against Ream and Fulham - wish you weren't one of them.

Saying that a player is quite awful when he's quite awful is not "rooting against him."

It's a statement of fact. Like calling an overcast sky "gray." We're not maligning the sky at all.
