Congratulations Qatar. I didn't bet on this team.
Continue to prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Glad it was a decent game, made getting up in the middle of the night worth it. Japan didn’t seem urgent enough in attack, and Qatar’s defence continued to be solid.

Congratulations to Qatar. They weren't one of the favorites when the tournament started, but they were the best team of the tournament on all counts: best offense with the most goals scored; best defense with the fewest goals allowed; and lifting the trophy after beating a long list of notable Asian teams: Saudi Arabia (2:0), Iraq (1:0); S.Korea (1:0), hosts UAE (4:0); and Japan 3:1.

I thought Japan did OK it's hard to break down a wall like that. The 2 early goals did them in and it looked like more were coming but they changed formation and kept the pressure on without conceding many counters. Unfortunately the one time Qatar did counter they got a lucky handball PK.

This was no fluke championship run. Qatar clearly deserved this trophy, having gone through a very difficult route to the final in style and on hostile territory too. This was the most formidable tournament run I’ve seen since Germany winning the 2014 WC. Congratulations to Qatar!

    What a great tournament!

What a goal by almoez ali to win the final. What an exciting player he has been. Same goes for the whole team. I never thought Qatar would win or that I would enjoy watching them so much. They have validated their free spots in the world cup and Copa america. It's going to be fun to see what they do in those tournaments.

I was dissapointed that Iran didn't make it. I would have loved to see Iran at full strength take on Qatar in the final. But they didn't show up in the semis. When they chose to argue with the ref the Japanese with their humble hard working attitude took advantage of them

Giants like South Korea, Australia, and Iraq were the victims of huge upsets at the hands of the Arab nations.

Our hearts were won by the likes of Jordan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Thailand, Vietnam

Can't wait to see what all these teams can do in upcoming tournaments and qualifying

If Japan hosts the next Confederations Cup as it’s been rumoured, and Qatar already has a spot as the 2022 World Cup host, who would take the AFC spot? Iran or UAE?

It's been proven Qatar have broken fifa rules and yet nothing was done about it.

If you are congratulating this victory please never complain about corruption ever again.

You are legitimizing it by not condemning it.

If you cant beat a Sudanese, a Tanzanian, and some leftovers from Iraq, Algeria, and random nomads then you don’t deserve to win to begin with.

The point is we are accepting that a team broke the rules and the AFC are covering it up. It's not even about Qatar winning or not.

This is wrong in any sport. We should be condemning this not congratulating because it's a nice story.

We complain about corruption in football all the time but now that we have a fairy tale story it deosnt matter?

Please never complain about corruption ever again

Totally agree. Anyone who is celebrating that a country using proven ineligible players has won is a complete fool. It is damaging for the sport that cheaters can get away with it and win.

In Spain when Real Madrid were found to be using an ineligible player they were thrown out of the copa del rey immediately. When it happens in Asia with this Qatar team the AFC does nothing and the fans turn a blind eye and congratulate cheaters on their victory? Ridiculous

The corruption in Asian football is disgraceful and the fans are just in acceptance of it which is also disgraceful.

I am pretty sure there wont be any more Asian teams. Japan would only be hosting because organizers want to do it in the summer.

It will just be Qatar and Japan.

    2. Japan
    3. France
    4. Euro winner
    5. African winner
    6. South American winner

So because it wasn't world class players who were ineligible the cheating doesn't matter? If it was a Brazilian you'd care about cheating? How silly

    what is your point exactly.

Nothing different to what France, Switzerland, USA, Australia, Spain, Germany have done. Some of these countries even have tens of millions in population and well established leagues.
