Was it Twitter where you posted about your feelings after missing out on one festival? All I can say is, their loss. Good luck with the next one to which you apply.
Yep. I will publicly shame them -- it was Phoenix. Waiting to hear from several including some LA-area festivals. Fingers crossed....
Do you aim for Toronto, or the one in Colorado? Don't even know if those even consider shorter works.
I will probably apply to both (Telluride and Toronto) although both are long shots - very hard to get in. Before that are a couple very big and important short film festivals that I've applied to that I will be waiting to hear from in the next month or so. So fingers crossed....
For anyone interested, the film will have it's world premiere at the Pasadena International Film Festival, which is running March 13 to 21. When we have the exact date and time of our screening block, I will post it here, in case anyone wants to see it.
Want to cheer yourself up about the Ola Kamara and Gio news? I have just the thing: Tickets are now available to purchase for the World Premiere Screening of VIRTUALLY. We are screening at 8:05 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20th at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 in Pasadena. We are in Block 24: Love At Last Sight. Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.laemmle.com/theaters/purchase/6/5672102?replace= Please purchase tickets in advance if you can. If enough tickets pre-sell then they will move the screening to the bigger theater at the venue. Hope to see you there!
Send me a round trip plane ticket from RDU and I'm there. Break a leg (or whatever the filmmaker equivalent is)!
So this weekend we won Best Actress and Honorable Mention-Best Sci-Fi Short Film here in Miami. Monday we have a free day to be tourists before heading home. Anyone know where the Miami stadium is going to be built so I can pee on the grounds and mark it as Galaxy territory?
Congratz! Last I heard they were toying with Fort Lauderdale. Take the time to go to Versailles, one of the best Cuban restaurants in the US. And splurge, get the tres leches cake.
How far is Charlotte from where you live? And are you going to be around the Weekend of May 31-June 2. I might have a ticket and beer with your name on it.... PM me.
If any BigSoccer Galaxy fans are in Reno, NV this weekend, let me know. Would love to find a Galaxy-friendly place to watch the gam on Saturday, and can offer comp tickets to anyone who wants to come see the film Saturday night or Sunday afternoon at the Sci-On! Film Festival. The film is nominated for best short film and is also up for the audience award.
LAX knows how to appropriately display LA Galaxy and LAFC gear at terminal 2. (It’s hidden on the bottom shelf, if you are looking for the LAFC swag)
I guess we should be used to this by now but I came across this tidbit from today: "VIRTUALLY wins Best In Fest at the ConCarolinas Short Film Festival" Sorry I didn't make it there to cheer you on but CONGRATS to you Trickhog and to your team of filmmakers!
Thanks Skydog! We’ve been doing pretty well. So far we’ve won 3 “best film” awards, 1 honorable mention, 2 best actor awards and 1 best director award. So thank you to all the BigSoccer regulars who helped make this film possible!
Ok, here is your next chance. Just found out we are screening at a festival in LA next week (June 15-19) at the Cinemark 18 & XD theater at the Howard Hughes Parkway. Perhaps the closest the film will play to the StubHub Center! I'll post showtime info. when I get it. Hopefully I can meet some of you there. FYI - Virtually has a much more satisfying ending than the last 3 Galaxy home games....
