Final 3-0 Decent beginning for the new coach and a bunch of new players in the first game as part of the January camp.
The team that finished looked much better on attack than the team that started. Faster, better passing,... everything
Bradley was bypassed for almost the entire 2nd half in the attacking half. Everything was down the right, with Lima, Roldan, and Baird.
Naw, I'm alright with him starting and even getting some minutes in the second half. At the 60 minute mark though, it was all but clear clear that he would be rather useless....
I thought Mihailovic and Lima look promising. Lewis has excellent speed. The announcers in Spanish commented about Bradley's future as an 8 or 6. My thought at the moment was...Is GB going to bench one of Mckennie or Adams for Bradley? If he does, he needs to be chased of town.
I'll share my thoughts in more depth later on but quickly wanted to express my overall level of satisfaction in the first game of our first camp of the Berhalter era (that the second half was markedly better than the first calls to mind a few talking points that I'll get into later). That the opponent was weak isn't really worth going too much into at this point: it was an appropriately good match by January camp standards, really only one player arguably didn't make a good impression (Zardes, and that's with caveats), and a few players did. The only real negative I can think of, and it's a big one, is that tonight didn't happen a year ago like it should have.
We weren't fantastic. But considering the situation: Jan camp, everyone in off-season form, new coach, new system, first caps for 7 players, 6 subs; B/C team vs middling opponent, I will take 3-0.
He does this every time he gets a chance. It’s uncanny how often he can just make a defender disappear. Does it every time he gets on the pitch.
