January camp in 2016: https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...mann-calls-23-players-for-january-camp-roster
if he manages to make a permanent move to VVV, who knows if he does well enough in a few years he could always attract attention of 1BL clubs and go back to Germany. He's only 25, still has time for that.
I seem to recall him playing against Puerto Rico a couple of years ago around the same time Klinsmann was starting to look at some new faces like Pulisic, Arriola and Acosta.
Just the two January Camp 2016 appearances. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jerome-kiesewetter/nationalmannschaft/spieler/94167
failed trial, no contract offered.
after his failed VVV trial, looks like he was recently with Hertha II. Back to his old club, the one he played youth football with. And if he joins, he goes back to RL like last season.
Thanks, you're a peach of a guy. Many players who are on the books of a club will send players out for a trial at another club (see Haji Wright), so I was unclear if that was the case here.
I remember years back when he was 18/19 years old a new coach for Hertha Berlin tried him out at Right Back during a preseason and he was drawing rave reviews. Hertha Berlin were even testing him out at CB. Stuttgart purchased him on the belief that as a forward he could still make it. I always wondered if he would be a bundlesliga RB or CB right now. the transition became very successful for Timothy Chandler when he was switched from attacker at 19/20 years old.
That's not news to anyone on these boards Look, if you're a lazy bum about it - like me - just copy his name into the Google bar, enter and click on the Transfermarkt result. They're not 100% accurate about these things, but it's pretty close. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jerome-kiesewetter/profil/spieler/94167 Actually clubs don't send players out on trial. They allow it. A contracted player who goes on trial has been told by the sporting director, the coach, the reserve team coach and maybe the U-19 coach "son, you're in nobody's plans. We'll observe the letter of your contract and you can do non-match training with the reserves to stay fit, but you'll only play for them in emergencies. Go out and find another club, if you can, because we've had no approaches and anyone we offered you to declined. We just don't rate you." It's a serious and public put-down and it usually happens when the player's ability or his (perceived) personality has given him no good alternatives, or any alternatives at all. To put it in Kiesewtter's case it's
no contract at Aue in 2BL, he did not convince. doesn't look good that he failed yet another trial and still doesn't have a club.
at this rate don't see any 1BL or 2BL clubs being interested in him. He does seem likely headed to 3rd Liga and lower if he stays in Germany.
This is surprising. I thought he always looked brave and fast, if a little bit lacking on the technical side. I certainly wouldn’t have expected him to have trouble landing a gig in BL2.
believe it went that he didn't really impress in friendlies on top of not providing anything different from what Aue currently has. So he got rejected by a club that has been in the relegation battle for a few years now, that doesn't look good.
Kiesewetter still a free agent. Time for him to give MLS a try (if he's good enough). I bet FC Cincinnati could use him.
him and Ashton Gotz are still in limbo. Will be interesting to see what happens to either one in Winter. Far worse for Gotze though, guy hasn't played a competitive game since Nov 2017, already more than year. Kiesewetter didn't impress at Fortuna and failed 2 loans, one in Eredivisie and one in 2BL. A soon to be 26 year old, if he stays in Germany can't help but think he'll be tops 3rd Liga.
transfer market is open and I haven't seen one transfer link to him anywhere.... recently 3-4 free agents have found clubs. Although those guys had tons of top flight experience and ended up transferring to 2BL.
3 weeks later and he still hasn't found a club and I've seen 0 mention of him anywhere. He's been a free agent for basically 7 months now. Hasn't played since mid-May and turns 26 next month too.
He'll need time to get match fit, assuming he's physically fit that is, which pretty much rules out an August-June season side. If he still sees himself as a footballer, that leaves Scandinavia or North America so expect reports of him going on trial there. Not sure it'll be MLS or the Allsvenskan though. Maybe USL
