I don't think it's for nothing that Kagawa gave a long-form interview to the Japanese media enumerating the various reasons he has had his heart set on Spain for several years. The whole situation under Favre is probably just the final straw, and in previous years you could have easily seen him getting back into the BVB squad with Reus inevitably picking up a knock and Götze not exactly lighting the Westfalenstadion on fire. He sounds like he's done with German football at any rate, and it's very difficult to imagine him going to a Stuttgart or Besiktas. He won't command a huge transfer fee and has plenty of potential income streams, so why not a top-half La Liga team? Perhaps in his mind he feels like he should have taken up Mourinho's overtures to serve as Özil's deputy at RM back in the day.
Such a shame what’s happened to Kagawa. Sadly, his career is turning into a cautionary tale. That might sound a little harsh, but I had such high hopes for him. Hope he goes to a club where his talents are utilized and appreciated. Thought after a good World Cup his career might finally pick up after where it left off after his first season at United. His fall from grace is only more puzzling when he hasn’t suffered a serious injury and isn’t known to have questionable character issues. Can it all be down to incredibly bad luck and/or career advice?
Sad yes. I would say a mix of everything. He should have transfered this summer. Maybe he wanted to try one more time at Dortmund? The teams in Europe knows how good he can be. He does not need to prove it, he just need som luck now.
Read an article today from Bild. They will release him for as little as 2m euro. The problem is that nobody seem to want him. No bids whatsoever. Sad.
Bordeaux had already made a loan offer, but it seems he refused. Here's one article https://bulinews.com/news/1782/report-dortmund-set-low-asking-price-for-shinji-kagawa
Well, Monaco at first sounds good until you realize they are the worst team in Ligue 1. I feel sorry for Kagawa. But yeah its better than playing in the reserves at Dortmund.
Monaco was a mess under Henry (only 2 wins in 12 matches), now that the previous manager Jardim (who won the Ligue 1 title with Monaco in 2017) is back the club may recover as well. For Kagawa I just hope he gets a lot of playing time and is able to use his experience to help lifting the atmosphere in and the performance of the team.
Kagawa also changed agent too. He now is under the same agent that handles the foreign players for Vissel Kobe, Mikitani's partner Arturo Canales..
he could be off to Hannover now.. 💬 #Doll über einen möglichen #Kagawa-Transfer: "Wenn das klappen sollte, werden wir ihn mit offenen Armen empfangen. Er ist ein erfahrener Spieler und steht jeder Mannschaft gut zu Gesicht." #H96RBL #H96 #NiemalsAllein ⚫⚪💚— Hannover 96 (@Hannover96) January 31, 2019
