Actually, it's even worse. Statistically, our defense is worse than in Wenger's worst season.

And he relies on Guendouzi too much. He’ll be good but he isn’t going to win a game for you when you need it and isn’t ready to play this much at this level yet.

We need players that set up when needed. Our only player like that is starting on the bench each match.

We need points. If Emery can’t get Özil to do more than what Guendouzi is currently bringing he is a poor manager.

Not sure either if those things are primarily his fault. But he doesn't seem to have the answers lately. Pressure will mount.

Well, that was unfortunate. West Ham deserved the win.

Different types of players, and Guen has a bad game going forward. With that said, this would have been the type of game that Ozil could have helped. We didn’t really create any great chances the whole game.

This would be first home win by them against us since 2006. That's a bad look.

The loss also comes down to an individual error. Xhaka to blame this time.

Very tame performance on the whole. A 15 minute spell but other than that Arsenal were devoid of creativity and abysmal at retaining possession. Based on this display top 6 feels in jeopardy.

Defensively the team lacked hustle and decisiveness. They were so slow and disjointed in their ball movement and gave WHU far too much time on the ball. The game had the feel of a team fatigued.

Offensively simply not enough in support of the strikers. The midfield was simply meek and failed to impose their game.

Absolutely hate WHU so this sucks.

Depressing. We don't play/like Ozil. Ramsey (the only spark today) is gone. Half our players are not good/old. Were not in a good place at all.

I can't ever blame a whole game on one moment. Arsenal had 90 minutes to do something and couldn't create enough threats nor prevent WHU from getting a winner.

Need a proper clean out still. Can't expect to have a new manager come in and keep guys like Xhaka and Iwobi and expect to do well. This team has so many passengers it's not funny.

    It’s real bad. Agreed.

Our two best creators are on their way out. We have no money to bring anyone in. Our defense sucks. Our forwards can’t get service and we have a lot of old players on serious wages. We have no style of play.

We have no chance at top 4. Down to FA Cup and Europa and we don’t look like we’ll challenge for either.

Emery needs to answer for his part in this.

Cue the boo-boys. Fairly poor performance overall. There was a stretch where I thought we were sharp and then nothing. Guen and xhaka didn’t have the long passes dialed in was a big issue.

Otherwise I think we need to credit west ham. They are pretty good. Pellegrini is a good manager had them setup well to defend and they have bought well. Anderson and nasri gave them quite a bit of control.

Neither team really created much to be honest—XG was 0.67 to 0.65. Iwobi missed his chance and rice took his. That’s pretty much the story for me. Not great, it’s clear we need more creation than just through the full backs and long balls, but that will require personel shifting I think. So patience is in order—probably need to focus on the Europa league and hopefully the FA Cup. Top four is probably dusted.

I think that’s the big picture issue. Pelligrini got a lesser squad to play up, while Emery got a better squad to underperform.

We shouldn’t be like WH. Our aim and expectation is much higher. But that’s where we are right now. We are where Spurs were and where Everton hung out. 5-8 spot without seriously challenging for top 4 and occasional cup run.

He deserves his players to implement this run around style fully.

Overall theme...nothing has changed. Our long win streak was a mirage that somehow we had turned the corner. Performances like today (and the Pool drubbing) demonstrate just the opposite. What happens when Ramsey is gone? (and who knows what the Ozil situation will be). Patience, yes, but when does the "rebuild" begin? Probably not under this owner or anytime soon.
