    interesting
    9) The next Ballack, Kroos or Özil

Comparisons have been quick in coming, with an obvious one being made with Leverkusen legend Ballack. Like Havertz, Ballack - a former Germany captain who drove his club to the 2002 Champions League final and his country to the World Cup final in the same year - is also 6'2".

Former Leverkusen boss Heiko Herrlich, meanwhile, said Havertz is the biggest talent he has seen since Real Madrid playmaker Kroos, who spent the 2009/10 season playing at the BayArena while on loan from Bayern.

Voller, though, believed Havertz was more similar to ex-Germany star Özil.

“Havertz has a gift with that left foot of his, and he uses the ball like Özil. Sensational,” Voller told Bild in February 2017.

The latter comparison with Özil is one that Havertz had noticed himself. He has said in the past that he likes the way the Arsenal midfielder always seems calm on the ball.

“I think that our style of play is somewhat similar, so I try to learn a lot from watching him,” he told Bild in 2017.

seems likely he's a hybrid of the 3.

If he is playing like Oezil

He won’t have a place in modern football

    Football is changing

Oezil doesn’t belong to modern football.

I think he does, ozil problem was his physical deficiencies that had a effect on him, havertz could have the physical attribution that could make him an all round player for all situations

Oezil improves his physicality n coverage

But still ineffective when he tracks back

I prefer Havertz to play like Ballack than Oezil , more practical

Ozil/ballack 2 different player, one relied on making late runs in the box and had a powerful shot, and the other ozil relied on vision, link up play, craftiness, at his best 8d prefer ozil over ballack, and I hope havertz is in a similar mold to ozil with a better work ethic

Looks like Havertz will miss the Tuesday Pokal match vs Heidenheim and remain questionable for the Friday BL match vs Mainz. Guess he'll be out for 2 weeks or so. Leverkusen have an important Europa league match vs Krasnodar in the following week though.

this is only league play not counting Cup and Europe, in which Havertz is closing in on 50, currently at 41.
