What demise? You act like Roma has a history of winning trophies...

Nothing to do with trophies. I dont think anyone in here fell in love with the club because of trophies because I can only count on one hand how many I've witnessed myself. Im talking about a team with an identity, players you would get attached to, contending for serie a, packed stadiums. That has been fading away, and not slowly but at a very fast pace.

The only two things were known globally for now is the team that breeds young players and undersells them, and the laughing stock of twitter.

When comparing two SERIE A defenders and price points, I didnt think not writing "in serie A" would fly over your head...

I don't know about top 5 but maybe top 10. Let's not forget he's had to play with garbage partners all of his time at Roma.

Inthe world i would definitely put him top 10. Alot of the big names are very overated and overhyped by English and Spanish media.

And exactly hes played with terrible defenders and still shined. If john stones was bought for 70 million then manolas is worth 90-100 lol

If there is one thing that modern soccer fans place too much value on it is the opinions of total strangers on a social networking platform called twitter.

And before we were... what, helping old players on big contracts retire? Letting players of value run out their contracts and move on a free transfer?

I don't understand what you're complaining about to be honest, if you think Pallotta isn't going to bring any trophies I agree in the short term, but then what's the alternative? Unless someone with oil money takes over the club we're never gonna be able to compete wage wise with big clubs (and even mid table clubs in the EPL have more buying power)

I can definitely see an improvement from Rosella's leadership, and I can see how far the club has come from our first season under Pallotta

I get your point about a lack of identity, but we've just bought half a new team of young players after losing Totti, as well as DDR & Perrotti being injured most of the season. At the time I was also upset about losing Radja, Strootman etc but I can see the value in their sales now that the team is gelling better and the ceiling is much higher (Radja and Strootman are hardly setting the world on fire at their new clubs either)

It's evident that with Pellegrini, Cristante, Zaniolo, Kluivert and Schick there's a core to build a quality squad around, a young one with lower wages and potentially higher value than the team we had last season (which was no doubt an ageing one)

Seeing as the only way we can finance transfers before the stadium is built is through sales, is this not the most logical way for the management to try and improve the squad?

I'm very pro keeping Schick, seeing Pellegrini and Cristante find form after struggling at the start of the season makes me think all Schick needs is patience and consistency.

I still think the team is more fluid going forward with Schick instead of Dzeko because of his mobility and link up play, he just needs a run of goals for confidence

Also, Schick looks like physically he has come on a lot since he joined, apart from the wingers and Florenzi we have such a strong team from a physical stand point
