If I were Kanazaki, I'd probably stay in Japan at this point. He's a star-level player in J. League and he had his chances in Europe.
i wouldn't, honestly he did all he could in Japan and playing in the Portoguese first division must sound pretty exciting.
Ko Itakura is rumored to have a few offers from Belgium and Netherlands. Hopefully Misao and Nakayama can move to Europe soon too.
Itakura had some really good games at the U-23 and then a decent year with Vegalta. I think it's normal having some clubs taking infos about him.
Frontale confirm that an overseas transfer for Itakura is in the works. https://www.frontale.co.jp/info/2019/0114_9.html
First big name exit from Kashiwa. Now, looking to the other two: Kosuke Nakamura and Junya Ito. Let's see where they will end up by the end of January.
Well, now the word is that Itakura is being scooped up by Man City. If true, let's hope he ends up in a good loan situation. https://www.hochi.co.jp/soccer/national/20190114-OHT1T50280.html
Ko Itakura has been signed by Manchester City and sent on a 1.5 year loan to Groningen. 🤝 Welkom Ko Itakura!🇯🇵Morgen komt de 21-jarige Japanse verdedigende middenvelder naar Nederland. The Eredivise has a minimum salary limit for non-EU players. Manchester City is probably paying his whole salary for his loan in exchange for possibly first rights to Doan. https://www.voetbalprimeur.nl/nieuw...eu-spelers-krijgen-minimaal-422-000-euro.html Looks like the minimum is 422k euros per year this season. Not a small sum for a club like Groningen.
City have been rumored to be after Doan's signature, and are probably looking to strike up a partnership with Groningen to replace NAC Breda, where the relationship has seemingly deteriorated. Uriel Antuna is also on loan from City to Groningen. But I'm not sure that simply renting Itakura out for free would be enough to justify City getting first call on Doan - it would be in the context of the whole club relationship. Even if they did buy him they would have to loan him out again right away.
does anyone know how good he is? strange (but good) transfer. not good enough for kashiwa but signed by braga.
