Schindler is pretty much a guy who would make numerous NTs if he wasn't German. People always joke and ask the guy if he's eligible for England.

Milik never played much though he started like 5 games out 24 in 1BL. Only played 55 min for Bayer in 1BL. His performances post 1BL show that he did get lack of chances to show himself.

Why the Eintracht has trouble reporting eight German players?


Frankfurt - Paragraph 53 of the DFB Rules regulates the number of allowed foreign players in the Bundesliga. It says literally: "Each club is required to keep twelve licensed players of German citizenship under contract." By Peppi Schmitt Behind this regulation, which is binding for all clubs to get any permission to participate in the league, was once the good will to do something for their own offspring to make room for youth players from their own association. Therefore, the "licensing regulations players" also stipulates that the clubs must have eight locally trained players, four of them in the club under contract. Sounds sensible, but has become more and more a farce in recent years. Because the clubs are only formally adhering to these regulations, but no longer fulfill the spirit of the regulation.

The Frankfurt Eintracht is a prime example of this. Since sporting director Fredi Bobic has the shots, the scouting has been extended not only numerically, but also geographically. The Frankfurt scouts are increasingly looking for new, interesting and, above all, affordable players abroad, most recently in France, Portugal or Spain. This certainly does not correspond with the above-mentioned rules, but has proved to be quite profitable for Eintracht as both sporty and economical. Behind this is the fact that foreign talents are even cheaper than the German, which are courted by almost all clubs.

The Eintracht drives well for years with their "multi-cultural troupe", which is now assembled with players from 17 different nations. The audience celebrates the players completely independent of their origin. This has always been the case in the most international German city, remembering only the star of the 1959 championship, Hungary's Istvan Sztani, or later football heroes like Ghanaian Anthony Yeboah, Nigerian Jay-Jay Okocha or Norwegian Jan-Aage Fjörtoft , Frankfurt is easily becoming the home of international players. Maybe that explains the enthusiasm of the fans around the Europa League matches.

Many other clubs in the Bundesliga are following a similar path for financial reasons. So also the neighbor from Mainz prefers and successfully fishes in the pond of French-born players. All clubs must, however, at the beginning of the preliminary round and back round look carefully, whether the requirements of the associations are met. The Frankfurt must therefore have three, four or even five "Quotendeutsche" under contract to meet the prescribed target. Which certainly does not serve the purpose of promoting one's own offspring. In fact, it hinders even this goal, because Knothe would certainly be better off at a club where he could collect match practice.

The federations, DFB and DFL, this does not seem to bother everything. And also the European association UEFA, moves there.
